Ben Shapiro Puts Catholics To Shame

Ben Shapiro is a young American Jewish man who fearlessly speaks out against much of the immorality in western society: unfortunately, he supports birth control, but – as you will see in the video clip below – he destroys the transgender and procured abortion lobby with his incisive and humorous comment…

Comment:

We desperately need a Catholic “Ben Shapiro” to speak out in the UK media, as Ben does so brilliantly in the USA.  Can you think of someone we could “school” for the job – perhaps a young person in your circle? Or is this best left to the “naturals” who volunteer for the job?

Organ Donation – The UGH! Factor…

The Church is very clear on the meaning of death. “Death can mean decomposition, disintegration, a separation,” Pope John Paul II said in a 1989 address to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. “It occurs when the spiritual principle which ensures the unity of the organism no longer exercises its functions in and upon the organism, whose elements, left to themselves, disintegrate.”

The scenario has become a familiar one in the news media. There is a tragic accident, a young victim, and a distraught family. Within the next few days, follow-up stories report approvingly that the organs of the brain-dead patient have been donated. The family expresses relief that at least some good has been derived from what might otherwise have been merely a senseless tragedy. Most readers find little controversy in these stories. Donating the organs of a brain-dead patient has become a routine procedure at both secular and religious hospitals throughout the US, and throughout the world. However, a small but growing number of ethicists tire protesting what they deem an overly hasty rush to procure organs for transplant a rush which, they contest, is sometimes so hasty that “brain-dead” patients are in fact alive when they are put to the knife.  Click here to read more…

Comment:

The Scottish Government plans to bring forward legislation to change the current situation where it is necessary for patients to  choose to donate their organs at death, and such volunteers often carry a card specifying that they wish to donate organs.  Read more here.

The system is to be changed so that patients must opt-out – otherwise, our organs may be presumed to be available.  I have sent the following email to Aileen Campbell, MSP, Minister for Public Health in Scotland:

Dear Ms Campbell,

With reference to the planned legislation to enforce “opt out” of organ donation, please advise how to go about opting out.

I presume this entails notifying my GP, but I would also like to ensure that I carry a card to indicate that I do not wish to donate an organ, NOR do I wish to receive one, in any emergency situation that may arise, so I presume that there will be a card to read “I do NOT wish to donate”, as there is an opt-in card already available.

I look forward to your advice on these matters, as soon as possible.  Thank you. END

Now, I know that the new Catechism of the Catholic Church praises organ donation in the highest terms:  Donation of organs after death is a noble and meritorious act and is to be encouraged as a manifestation of generous solidarity… (#2296)

So, why do I have such a revulsion against the very idea?  Whatever happened, I ask myself, to accepting God’s will when afflicted with serious illness, albeit allowing for the pursuit of available treatments to improve or restore health. Having someone else’s organs transplanted into us, seems to me, to go way beyond that.  However, I get the feeling that I’m very much in the minority on this subject.  I won’t be won over:  the revulsion I felt when I first heard about organ transplants has never left me – but I look forward to learning how other bloggers view this matter.  Over to you!

Scottish Catholic Education Service Guilty of Institutionalised Child Sex Abuse

Recently, January, 2017, we discussed the distinction which has to be made today, between Catholic schools and authentic Catholic education. The two are no longer the same thing. This, in the context of the large numbers of Muslim pupils populating Catholic schools. Click here to read that discussion

Previously, in July 2016, we had addressed the issues surrounding the compliance with the LGBT agenda, of the Catholic education service in Scotland (SCES) here

Barbara Couper, Director, Scottish Catholic Education Service

Barbara Couper, Director, Scottish Catholic Education Service

Now, today, we look at the utterly shocking report in this week’s Scottish Catholic Observer (SCO) detailing the sheer scale of the apostasy and depravity within the Scottish Catholic Education Service where, says Barbara Couper, Director of the SCES speaking on behalf of the Scottish Bishops, “gay” pupils in Scottish Catholic schools are to be given “safe spaces” to talk to specially trained (in LGBTI issues) teachers or other adults, under the patently obvious pretext of “bullying”.  No such provision for pupils bullied for any other reason is made.  Just those who imagine themselves to be called by God to a life of depravity and moral corruption. Ms Couper was addressing the Scottish Parliament’s Equalities and Human Rights Committee about a “range of measures that would be taken in Catholic schools to prevent bullying of any lesibian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTI) pupils”  Bishop Keenan of Paisley “praised Ms Coupar’s performance before the committee saying she gave an ‘excellent account to the Holyrood Equalities Committee of how our Catholic schools are responding to LGBTI bullying issues while respecting parents’ wishes that their children be educated within the Catholic vision of the dignity of every human person.” (LGBTI ‘safe spaces’ for Catholic schools, Scottish Catholic Observer, 3rd February, 2017.) At time of this writing, the report is not online – if it appears later, we will link to it. This week’s SCO can be read here

Bishop John Keenan of Paisley

Bishop John Keenan of Paisley

It goes without saying that if Ms Couper’s version of Catholic education had remotely reflected the truths of Catholic Faith and Morality, it would have made headline news – as a “hate crime” – for weeks if not months to come.  And Bishop Keenan must know that, so he – with his brother bishops – are seriously complicit in this depraved (literally) version of Catholic education.

Lest anyone be ignorant enough to think that this move has anything to do with bullying, take a look at the Stonewall booklet (A Guide For Schools) which argues for ways and means to encourage young pupils to “come out” – this is what is actually going on here; Catholic schools encouraging this vice among young people, who, half the time can’t make up their minds whether they want to be bus drivers or brain surgeons, cops or high court judges, yet they are exposed to the possibility that they may engage in depraved sexual behaviour and be actively encouraged to do so by none other than so-called  Catholic educators. Barbara Couper, Director of the Scottish Catholic Education Service, insists that Catholic schools “propose the Gospel, not impose the Gospel” – ignoring the fact that the LGBTI community have no problem imposing their counter-gospel.  Thus, with a red-hot warning that if you visit this comment from an Anglican gentleman posted by me on our General Discussion thread recently, you will be faced with the sheer depravity of homosexual activity; if you are a parent or a teacher, however, you ought to grit your teeth and suffer the filth, for the purpose of knowing precisely what it is that Barbara Couper and the Scottish Bishops are doing by their ‘safe spaces’ initiative in Catholic schools.  They are exposing children to everything you will read there, and more – the commitment of the  SCES remember, as quoted in the SCO report of 3rd February, is to put pupils in touch with “help inside and outside the school.”

Below, is the substance of my comment copied from the July thread, with some additional remarks, because I think it applies today, in the context of this latest dereliction of duty by the Scottish Bishops.

Comment:

The Scottish Hierarchy continues to keep a disgraceful silence on the undermining-through-to-destruction of traditional marriage and sexual morality  – always taking their lead from the enemy; secular society and, specifically, the homosexual lobby, whose list of deviant behaviour is ever growing.  Not one Scottish Bishop has come out plainly to warn the faithful against the heresy in Amoris Laetita.  Far from it.  Archbishop Tartaglia has advertised training for teachers and priests on how to teach, preach, implement it and you can bet your bottom dollar that if he were instructing Catholic teachers and priests to preach traditional Catholic doctrine on marriage, and ignore the heresy, we’d have heard about it, with banner headlines in the secular press about the “infidelity” of  “disobeying” Pope Francis the Great.

There’s a push now for the normalisation of “transgenderism” and “intersex” and goodness knows what else will be added to the list once that’s firmly in place (and they’re almost there, with few questioning the idea that a man may become a woman and vice versa)  – bestiality? Why not?

Children and young people are, therefore, effectively being groomed for sexual deviance, with the full and knowing complicity of the useful idiots currently running the Education Service of the Catholic Church in Scotland – and their episcopal bosses. Click here to see who’s who….

Nobody but nobody will convince me that these self-styled education “experts” and the Bishops do not know perfectly well that “addressing LGBTI+ matters in an appropriate and sensitive way” (and providing “safe spaces” for pupils to “come out”) means condoning sexually deviant behaviour and accepting its normalisation – and imposition – by those guilty of this grave sin, which Christians have always believed, is a sin “crying to Heaven for vengeance.”

It seems self-evident then that what is going on in Catholic schools today amounts to institutionalised child sex abuse. If you agree, why not write to the Scottish Catholic Observer to complain about their report published in the paper, 3rd February and entitled: LGBTI ‘Safe spaces’ for Catholic schools – email the Editor, Ian Dunn at  ian@sconews.co.uk   I’m about to write to him myself, having sent him this comment in advance, in an effort to make absolutely sure that he understands what is at stake for the young people entrusted to Catholic educators.  [Later that same day – I’ve now emailed a letter for publication. Let’s see if it makes it onto the SCO Letters Page.]

I would add only this, for reflection: I have long been of the opinion – and said so for years in our newsletter, well before the Cardinal O’Brien scandal broke – that bishops who permit and promote deviant sexual behaviour have placed a huge question mark over their own sexual morality and integrity.  It’s called “fair comment”.

Anyway, back to the immediate issue:  perhaps you think that providing ‘safe spaces’ in Catholic schools to encourage “gay” pupils to “come out” is just fine?  Let’s hear it…

USA Election – Exposed: Hillary’s Subversive Activity Against Vatican…

Hillary Clinton & John Podesta

Hillary Clinton & John Podesta

Adrienne – a visitor to our site from Destin, FLorida – writes: “I’m deeply concerned by the anti-Church activity of our brother in Christ John Podesta and his friends. It is even more dangerous than their support for abortion and same-sex marriages, by itself. And I don’t want this issue to be talked round and forgotten.

I’d be very glad if you could publish my piece, because the mood of ordinary believers is quite an important thing that unfortunately haven’t been properly covered by our media.”

Clinton against the Vatican. Will the Holy See withstand?

According to the e-mails published by Wikileaks on October the 8th, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign chief John Podesta is the most influential man in Soros’s war against the Vatican. Having close financial ties between them, both the “left” billionaire and the Democratic Party leadership are in favor of legal widely available and federally funded abortions as well as of full public acceptance of same-sex marriage. At the same time, the Catholic Church (to which almost every third American and about 40% of immigrants belong) remains committed to traditional values. Therefore, despite theologically enacted nonpolitical nature of the Catholic Social Doctrine, the Church’s voice is inevitably a hindrance for both: Soros and the Democrats.

So, in February 2012, the Democrats were eager to gain support for their Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare, that required contraceptives and abortion costs to be included in the health insurance plans (and a refusal to fund birth control measures was labeled as “gender discrimination”). Hence, the president of the Voices for Progress, Sanford Newman wrote an e-mail to the Center for American Progress (CAP) founder, a longtime Democratic Party lobbyist John Podesta. Newman asked his opinion on the feasibility and possible ways of preparing the “Catholic Spring”. According to the Voices for Progress chief’s idea, it was necessary to somehow “plant the seeds of revolution” within the Catholic Church, so that the believers themselves would “demand their bishops to end a middle ages dictatorship” and better respect equality of the sexes. As a Jew, Newman recognized that he wasn’t familiar enough with Christianity, and carefully posed his offerings as hypothetical. However, John Podesta said bluntly that Catholics in Alliance with the Common Good (CACG) and Catholics United (CU) had already been created exactly for this purpose. He also complained about the lack of leadership and recommended that Kathleen Kennedy Townsend be consulted on this effort.

Indeed, since 2005 when these NGOs were established, they have been financed by the Soros Foundation and the Open Society Institute, either directly or through intermediary entities controlled by the progressive billionaire’s organizations. In their turn, CACG’s founder Tom Periello and its Chairman Fred Rotondaro are senior fellows at the Soros-funded CAP established by Podesta.

Criticism toward CACG and CU, who advocate the ordination of women and vindicate abortion and sodomy, has been heard since 2007. In 2008, Archbishop Charles Chaput stated that these organizations were compromising the Church. He also said that before the 2008 presidential elections two CU representatives had been accusing the Catholic Church of supporting Republicans and had been trying to urge him [Archbishop Chaput] to stop condemning abortions. In addition, Catholics United, which has nothing to do with the Church, was critical of the bishops who denied Communion to politicians who supported the legalization of abortion. Another critic of these liberal NGOs, Catholic League president William (Bill) Donohue also recalled how Chris Korzen, the CU Director at that time, tried to have him booted from CNN. In turn, CACG has been organizing events for liberal Catholic priests and lay people throughout the country. As a result of this manipulation, a misguided impression that Soros and Democratic Party’s initiatives were consistent with Christian theology was created. Thus, recently revealed correspondence has only confirmed pre-existing assumptions about the involvement of Hillary’s inner circle in the subversive activity against the Vatican.

It should be noted that the John Podesta’s attitude toward Catholics is not an exception but a norm for his party. For example, among the Hillary’s campaign Chairman’s emails one more derisive conversation was found. And it was between the current HRC director of communications Jennifer Palmieri and former Democratic chief strategist, CAP senior fellow John Halpin. The aforementioned Kathleen Kennedy Townsend has also claimed that the teaching of the Catholic Church encouraged “bigotry and harm”.

The U.S. Catholic community has met the attempts to distort the teachings of the Church, as well as politicians’ efforts to interfere with its affairs, with harsh criticism. President of the USCCB, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz stressed that such actions might appear to be “troubling both for the well-being of faith communities and the good of our country…Catholic beliefs had come to us from Jesus, not a consensus forged by contemporary norms ” Catholic League President Bill Donoghue advised the Democratic candidate for US president to dismiss her campaign Chief John Podesta. In his turn, president of the CatholicVote.org Brian Burch called for the resignation of Jennifer Palmieri and reminded us how Hillary Clinton herself had referred to conservatives as “basket of deplorables”. However, the Holy See hasn’t commented, yet, on the subversive efforts of Clinton’s team.

Will St. Peter’s successor defend the right of believers to live in accordance with Christ’s commandments and protect the Church’s teachings from the encroachment of politicians? Is Pope Francis to put in their place the representatives of the American financial and political elite trampling on religious freedom in the eyes of the world? According to my American Catholic acquaintances, it depends from whence the Pope’s benevolence and concern for the poor originate: Marxism or the Lord’s commandments. The response of His Holiness, as well as its absence, will show what he is to a greater extent: Catholic or “leftist” – they say.

Comments invited – not least from our American Catholic brothers and sisters, out there. Are any of you seriously thinking of casting your vote for … that [anti-Catholic ] woman?
