UK: Restrictions Won’t End in June – Politicians Planning Into 2023… Liars!

Government councils in the UK are hiring COVID Marshals to patrol streets from July until the end of 2023, despite the fact that all lockdown restrictions are supposed to end in June.

“A new army of Covid Marshals is being recruited for roles that could last until 2023 despite Government plans to lift all remaining restrictions on June 21,” reports the Telegraph.

“Councils around the country are advertising jobs that do not begin until July – several days after the supposed freedom day.”

One example is Hertfordshire County Council, which is “offering a contract of up to £3 million to firms that can supply 60 marshals from July 1 until January 31 next year.”

“The contract comes with a possible one-year extension, meaning marshals would still be patrolling until 2023,” states the report.

The Marshals will be tasked with ensuring “compliance” and helping the public understand “regulations and guidance,” despite the fact that all regulations are supposed to be terminated in 8 weeks time.

“We know that the virus is still circulating and will be for some time. We know from last year that numbers of infections can change rapidly, and Government are very clear that we should plan in case a third wave arises. It would be a dereliction of duty not to prepare for a third wave,” said Jim McManus, director of public health for Hertfordshire County Council.

Critics have accused the government of wasting taxpayer money by allowing councils to use government grants to fund the program.

“To start hiring people based on the situation we faced last year, before we had rolled out the vaccines, does seem to be a waste of public money,” said Mark Harper MP, Tory chairman of the Covid Recovery Group.

The fact that COVID Marshals will be patrolling the streets beyond June once again illustrates how the timetable to lift restrictions is completely phony.

Just like the UK government promised for months that it wouldn’t introduce vaccine passports while secretly funding their creation, the state has been caught lying yet again.

In all likelihood, fearmongering over a “third wave” of the virus, despite the UK vaccinating virtually all of its vulnerable population, will be used to reintroduce lockdown at the beginning of Autumn.    Source

Comment:

For those of you who still think it’s important to live in a “democracy”, reflect on the old saying, which like most old sayings contains an important truth:  If my vote made a difference, if it counted, they wouldn’t give it to me…

As Dr Mike Yeadon said many months ago, they are lying to us about “the virus”. They are still  lying to us about “the virus”.  They’re lying about the vaccine(s), and now we know that they are lying about the end of restrictions, that there will NOT be a restoration of our freedoms in June.  There will be no shortage, remember, of “useful idiots” applying to be Covid Marshalls who, like the police, will turn rogue on the population – as have their masters, the scoundrel politicians.

Dumb public.  On the Jeremy Vine Show today (BBC Radio 2), in an item about the situation in India, one commentator remarked that there’s not a lot ordinary people can do, but the rich people “like Bill Gates and Mark  Zuckerberg” could make a difference.

The very people who are introducing us to Communist governance, and trying to depopulate the world.  Yip.  A very educated population here in the UK – NOT!  Dumb as a bucket of rocks, as yet another old saying goes…

Well, are we going to accept this new normal until 2023 – in the knowledge that by 2023, they mean forever.   Are you going to accept ongoing restrictions?

  1. Sin of Omission!

I should have expressed my warm gratitude to RCA Victor who alerted me to the above report. He emailed the link to me earlier and, as soon as I read it, I thought “dynamite!”

Obviously, not a lot of you agree. Someone (I forget who) recently apologised for being lazy (not blogging much) and I dismissed the claim – impossible, I said!

Anyway, whatever it’s called, it seems to be catching because I’ve been away from my computer all day and returned to find myself unchallenged – not a single reply to any of my rivetting comments.

Still, I refuse to be lazy – I will be back…eventually! Assuming there’s someone to answer 😀 I’ve more or less banned RCA Victor – if anyone’s entitled to be “lazy” for a bit, it’s he, himself and him 😀

    • Editor,

Sorry, I think I’m guilty of “selective participation”!

It is my intention every day to visit the blog and post a comment, but you know what they say about the road to hell being paved with good intentions, LOL!

Thanks for this thread – I do agree that is really is dynamite

      • Laura,

I think that I’m guilty of “selective participation” certainly in posting a comment, though I do tend to visit the blog daily.

I found this article dated September 14, 2020 in that Boris Johnson was discussing Covid Marshals.

        https://inews.co.uk/news/uk/covid-marshal-secure-duties-powers-new-lockdown-rules-england-announcement-boris-johnson-fine-explained-641437

The government has not wasted time in the implementation of this role in the wider world. Will it become a permanent kind of job? And what kind of individuals will it attract? I hate to think.

RCA Victor certainly asks good questions, but, will it become a permanent job for some people – especially if they like a bit power.

        • Theresa Rose,

I’m here to do a bit of catch-up as well. This blog is my life-line – it is helping me get through this awful time and yes, I also wonder about these Marshalls. It shows that this whole thing is being planned carefully. As it says in the top report, if we are coming out of restrictions, why do we need Covid Marshalls to help us keep the guidance? The whole thing is a lie. Unless we just take back our freedoms, this won’t end.

          • This blog, and others , are a life line to me as well
I’ve been off doing other things over the last week or two, but still am depending on it. It does help us through this nightmare.
Words fail about this marshal outrage. The purpose being to get more fines and convictions no doubt.

In common law, I learn, juries can actually be used to knock down unjust unconstitutional laws. If we ever get another election and succeed in getting rid of our present political establishment. Which doesnt look very likely at present,

Also here is a website which may be of interest: https://hardwickalliance.org
You probably know much of this but I like the nice clear layout of this website.
What is happening, our dehumanisation and degradation, definitely bears the personality and stamp of the devil,

            • You see, Mary, this is why I worry about RCA Victor. He tends to set bad example. See my reply to him below… Now you’re following his bad example, with your opening words… Can you spot (what I presume is) a typo?

This blog, and others , are a life line to me as well…

See how your finger slipped and you added “and others”? You need to be more careful, Mary. We don’t want to mislead other bloggers and readers…

Took a quick visit to your linked website – it does look interesting. Will explore it properly asap.

        • Theresa Rose,

If they were serious about ending the restrictions in mid-June, there can be no real need for Covid Marshalls to monitor us all until 2023. And make no mistake about it, if this is happening in England, it will also be happening in Scotland. Big time.

  2. Editor,

    Oh no, I’ve been de-platformed!

I wonder whether these “marshals” will act anything like the police, though it’s not clear whether they will have the power to arrest people. Will they issue fines? Will they hand out free masks? Will they be carrying deadly vaccines with them?

“Here you go, bloke, if you take this jab we won’t issue a fine…be a compliant little sheep, now…”

I wish some people would get together and form Truth Marshals, put on yellow vests (like the French), and pass out accurate information on the street and in stores about what’s being done to us. Whaddya say, Ed?

    • RCA Victor,

I’d forgotten about the French vests. I’d prefer false eyelashes, but I don’t suppose that would be as effective.

Seriously, though, that IS an idea. If we could find someone to front such a rebellion, there are a number of ways in which we could participate. Not selectively, of course – completely!

    • RCA Victor,

No way will you ever be de-platformed! You are the original “indispensable”!

If they are anything like the Community Police Officers, no, the Marshalls won’t be like the police but it’s still unacceptable. I’ve seen staff in some supermarkets wearing jackets with “Marshall” on the back, so this seems to be something very sinister that is being normalised in the UK, preparing us for permanent totalitarianism. It’s frightening.

There is more bad news – at least one university (Durham, I think) has introduced vaccine “certification” so students can’t take full part in university life unless they have a vaccine certificate. It’s downright evil, the way this whole scam is being pushed, despite all the numbers going down.

      • Laura,

I wonder when those undergoing forced vaccination are going to figure out that forced vaccination was deemed a violation of international law after WWII…

        • RCA Victor,

They know that it’s against international law, that is why they present it as an option. The government doesn’t say you must be vaccinated, they are leaving it to individual companies and so on, to say IF you are not vaccinated you can’t fly on airlines or participate in full university life etc.

It’s extremely devious. If they get away with this, though, I think the government will make it mandatory – they’d think nothing of flouting international law IMHO.

  3. Remember though ED in one of Your latest Articles of the March in London where a few Polis got some of their own Medicine. I and I suppose you and Victor did also watch the Real Amount of People on the March which was 99.99% peaceful, and their was at least 200.000 on it at least. The Rotten To The Core BBC said that there were 10.000 on the March. The Rotten To The Core BBC actually got the Polis amount which was probably around 10.000 . My they can surely come up with some amount of Polis, yet they say their is a Shortage. As for this Marshall B.S. I can see a few of them being told exactly where to stick their Needles. As for the Polis amount it reminds me of the Miners Strike where 1000s of Polis turned up from nowhere in unfitting uniforms. At that time their was still Height Restrictions on the Force and it was said that the Army were being used to quell the riots . Of course that couldn’t and wouldn’t happen in a Free Democracy like ours would it . I mean it’s like going back to 1929 in Glasgow when Churchill had actual tanks in the Streets during the General Strike. Isn’t it funny how lots was forgotten when the Bold Winston beat Hitler almost Single Handedly . So is it Back to maybe Medical Tanks in Towns and Cities with us being Marshalled by Marshalls and holding us down to give us the dreaded Vaccines. One can almost see it now ,just like the German Occupied Countries during WW2 being stopped by Marshal Gestapo saying ” Papers Please ” Well they may not actually say Please. As for Lockdown Lies. At least we knew this was coming. June will go past probably OK ,for the You Know Who Mob to March with Pride all over the U.K then will come another Lockdown.

  4. I’m not surprised at this news. It was on this blog that I read more than once, that there’s no way they will let us out of lockdowns now that we have been so obedient to the restrictions.

I also read somewhere today that a doctor wrote to the Government (UK) about vaccine coercion and got a reply saying that the Government position “currently” is that there should not be coercion.

That means there will be coercion down the line just as these Covid Marshalls mean we’re not getting out of lockdown again. I think that’s a given.

It’s moving quickly, but they are giving the impression that it’s all temporary, stopping and starting so that we get used to this way of life. It’s evil.

The UK politicians are definitely liars, but that’s not news, really. North and south of the border, they are liars.

    • Lily thats Exactly what these Evil Marxists are doing .We know that Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. Its as if they think like their running a Marathon with small breaks here and their until they get to the finishing line and it will be complete. Their will be no freedom at all. Of course this completely is a Marxist Tactic and whats worse is we know its working, at least for the moment. Question to all on here. How many believe that our Churches would have opened up at all if the Protestants had not started that Protest. God forgive me ( if am wrong ) but our Bishops are about as Catholic as John Knox ,and as far as the Acting Pope or Pope acting i think to all of us on here is an absolute write off. The latest Sermon on Remnant T V said it all about The Vatican and the Reprobates invited to this Health Forum. Chelsea Clinton a Satanist. Fauci a Plastic Dictator who has an opinion, as Jim Jordan said on Everything ,but an answer for nothing. Then their is the Big Pharma Vaccine producer C.E.Os. None of these has the least interest in Catholicism, except to Destroy it. Also one of the Invited Experts is a Transvestite Transgender or a Transgender Transvestite, for i certainly cannot get my Limited Intelligence around that one.

  5. I am truly shocked at the brazenness of this. I knew they were probably not being honest and that they would find a way to get us back in lockdown but that report is something else. I took out this paragraph because it really does show the hypocrisy and that they are treating us all like idiots.

““We know that the virus is still circulating and will be for some time. We know from last year that numbers of infections can change rapidly, and Government are very clear that we should plan in case a third wave arises. It would be a dereliction of duty not to prepare for a third wave,” said Jim McManus, director of public health for Hertfordshire County Council.

In other words, we MUST have a third wave. They “know” that the virus will be circulating for some time” (what, like the annual flu virus?)

Liars, liars, liars, I totally agree.

I seriously wish there could be a “yellow vest” type of rebellion here – I think an awful lot of people would sign up for it.

We can’t just go on accepting this tyranny.

  6. Disturbing that the police state is expanding! Perhaps more MPs will stop enabling the oppression, the social control, and start speaking out.

This has never been about a virus, though. (Reiner Fuellmich is involved in some lawsuits against the perpetrators of this that are ongoing. I don’t want to put too much hope in this world but I’m interested in how that develops.)

I don’t understand this as part of God’s plan and it makes me angry what the governments are doing but I have to believe in the end that the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph as she said at Fatima.

People can choose to believe lies but at some point one thinks they will wake up and realize what has been done to them, and how they have enabled it by their compliance.

If I’m angry at these governments imagine how much more God is angry with my sins and the sins of all people! We should fear not one who can destroy the body only, but the one God who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Since last year this has made me examine the kind of life I was leading and my need to repent and return to the Church. I’m glad I stumbled across this blog and thank you for writing it and thank you also to everyone who contributes.

    • Victor,

This is a flying visit – I’m about to abandon my computer for a few hours but I wanted to say a few words in response to your comment.

Firstly, as you won’t need me to tell you, “evil” is never a part of God’s plan. However, one of the best explanations I ever heard of “God’s plan” came in the form of art, so to speak when I read that it’s like looking at the wrong side of a tapestry. All we see are threads in disarray, dotted all over the place. Turn the tapestry over, though, and we see a beautiful work of art. In due course, when we are called to our judgment, we will see that beautiful work of art. Occasionally, in our own lives, we get a glimpse of that right side of the tapestry, but for the whole picture, we’ll have to wait a while.

God has given us free will, in the full knowledge that this would lead to His creatures turning against His Law, and doing evil. It’s all part of that tapestry which we call the Mystery of Faith. Like the tapestry, it is not what it seems when we look only at the threads – i.e. the evil.

Our Faith is a living Faith and God knew what some people would do with their power and influence and so He sent His Mother to warn us precisely about this particular evil of “the virus” – most accurately known as totalitarianism. Communism would overtake the world, Our Lady warned, unless…

Well, instead of me reinventing wheels, I’ll just post the link below, which takes you to a previous discussion we had on this topic earlier in the year.

Fatima Prophecies Unfolding Before Our Very Eyes – Global Communism Is Here!

I’m also very glad that you stumbled across this blog – it’s those who “stumble” across it, who make it all worthwhile.

      God bless you.

      • ED as you say we have free will if not Freedom. When Our Lord spoke about the Narrow Gate my its certainly coming true in these days. I personally have tried to follow his Will lots more ( i believe ) in this last year. Maybe its also because of course am not getting any younger, but i have also tried to get my Daughter back to the Faith ,and i know i havent done enough either now or in the past. One part of me says i should have been more forceful towards Her, but in my experience force doesnt work. I do of course pray for Her and Her Family IE Her Man and my Granddaughters, and maybe their is selfishness there also as i think who shall remember Me when i go. I just Hope and Pray that i will enter through that Narrow Gate as i believe, and fear that last Judgement and Judged i know i shall be. I of course have thanked you for this Great Site many times but thanks can ( in my believe ) never be offered enough. After all Our Lord Jesus Christ said ” Where are the other 9 “. So its our Latin Mass tonight at 19.00 i thank God we have in my opinion a good Priest. He must be doing lots right as many dont like him. I have said to those who have said ” I dont like him ” that hes not here to be liked or to be disliked but to be a Catholic Priest .

        • Faith of our Fathers,

We all have lapsed family members, I’m sure so I sympathise with you totally but we can’t force anyone back tot he faith. You are setting a good example just by practising and praying for your family. That’s all any of us can do.

I also tell everyone about this blog, as they can ask questions and get answers anonymously. You could try that but just casually, not forcing.

I totally agree about the priests and being “liked” or “disliked” – priests wanting to be popular (even for the best of reasons) has been a major problem in the Church for years now. Jesus told his first priests that the world would hate them as it hated him, so they should get on with preaching the faith and not worry about being liked.

          • Yes Michaela unfortunately its a sign of the times that we all have lapsed Family Members who dont go to Mass ,but at least they dont Vote for the S.N.P. I have had a few run ins let say with Catholic Neighbors who Vote S.N.P. and i believe our Bishops ( thats some task ) should be saying that it is a Mortal Sin to Vote for Nippy and Co . I dont know what age you are but Pre Vatican 2 I always remember our Parish Priest ( back then we also had a Curate ) telling us poor Catholics to Vote Tory. Talking about Priests being liked or not, he most certainly was not liked by many, especially Families who found it hard to feed us kids. Going back to this particular Priest i always remember him when i was a Child ,but old enough to feel embarrassed .This particular Priest reading out from The Alter how much by Name each Family had given to the Easter Collection, and to the Christmas Collection in our Parish. It was without a doubt a form of Mental cruelty. IE he would read say that a well off family had maybe given £1 which in the late 50s was no small amount. Then he would read out that We only gave say 5 Shillings. Considering that sometimes we didnt have 1 Shilling to put into the Gas or Electricity Meters it was no small amount. Obviously this particular Priest hadnt read the Parable of the Poor Widow who as we know only put in a Penny. And we all know Christs words on that. To me particularly when the Church was Rich as is now, many Clergy abused their positions which led to much resentment especially in my village. In fact as a Paper Boy i well remember putting The Daily Worker through a few Catholic Families letter boxes.Older ones will certainly know what the Daily Worker was all about. Was it a better time than now For Feeding. Clothing and Heating Families without a doubt No. Was it a better time for us Children growing up. Without a Doubt Yes.

            • Faith of our Fathers,

I’m amazed at your report about your “Tory” priest – talk about unique! Across the west of Scotland, the clergy have been socialists ever since I was old enough to spell “politics”, so that’s astonishing. Not to mention utterly shameful if, indeed, he was publicising the names and amounts of those who donated to the collection. Disgraceful.

I am just throwing this thought into the mix – not doubting your word but perhaps your memory? It’s such an unusual thing, to find a priest like that, on all sorts of levels, that I can’t help wondering if your memory is playing tricks. You know, like Joe Biden announcing to the world that he came into the senate 120 years ago. Or this gentleman…

              • I can 100% assure you ED that neither my Memory nor my mind is playing tricks on me and IF i had to i can also assure you that i could ,if necessary get back up for my post above. One of the things that i have been blessed or cursed with, was a Great Memory. In fact even in my Darker Times ( and their were many) i can still remember nearly every detail ,and IF You like i could EMail you 5 chapters of a Book i started to write that put down very much precisely my younger days.Of course their is some very colorful language that would probably not be, just lets say to your taste. As for your Joseph Biden comment i am of course in His Decade but lets just say i can still very much remember ( at the moment ) my very first School Teacher who made some very nasty and very untasteful comments to not just myself but to other Members of my class, who were maybe just not refined enough. As a final testament to my memory. One of my first jobs entailed me making Tea and going to the Shops for over 20 Men. I didnt need to write down a list of what they told me to get for them. And BTW i can still remember most of them by name also, of course i was 15 then, but that wasnt yesterday. As for the Tory Priest he may as you say have been a rarity, of that i cannot say. What i do know is that He was overweight which was also very rare especially in the Mining Village i was raised in .In fact i cannot remember ONE fat kid in my School. Although thats probably one fact of my Memory that could be debated on.

                • JD,

Funny you should mention writing a biography. When I got home from college, having barely made it through, and being much more clueless about life than when I started, I wrote one as well and called it “From Rags to Rags.”

                  • Well Victor i actually was going to call mine Baby Boomers My A**** I know of course that Baby Boomers was more or less a U.S. saying .One can of course put the saying down to the Birth Rate, or one can put the saying that Baby Boomers had a better and more Financial ( for a better word ) upbringing than their Fathers. Which of course after the War in the U.S was probably true, but was certainly not true here in the U.K. I can still remember the back end of Rationing here where their was only 1 overweight Person in my Mining Village and i started from there. I can still always remember our First Home or First Dump when i looked back. 4 Families shared the same outside Toilet . 6 off us, 4 next door 8 in a Family downstairs and 1 old Women next door to them. So we had some hard upbringings and i certainly was not unique as we were all in the same boat. Anyhow thats were i started and your Title from Rags to Rags tells me that i have more in common with you than i knew and i believe from Spiritual Experiences you know what am on about . Anyhow a True Story of the 8 of a Family Downstairs. Their Father was a bit of a Rascal and its said that one night the Police Arrested him and came back to tell his Wife this. “Your Man is in Jail he went crazy ,and it took 6 of us 30 Minutes to get Him into a straight Jacket ” his Wife replied ” Your lucky because av been trying 10 years and cant get Him into a Working Jacket “.

    • Victor,

I can’t add anything to Editor’s lovely post so I’ll take the present calamity from the perspective of “we are under God’s chastisement” (which would also be part of the tapestry).

I think there are two causes to this calamity: one, the world has rejected God, more so than at any time since the Incarnation of Our Lord (in my opinion) and two, perhaps even more important, what failed to happen in the Church in 1960, i.e. the publication of the Third Secret, which would have ended forthwith the idea of having a Council (assuming that the Third Secret does indeed speak of an “evil Council”).

Which brings me to the reaction to the present calamity, a two part-reaction: the reaction in the world, and the reaction in the Church. The reaction in the world has not been to return to God, but to protest in various forms and engage in litigation to demand the restoration of our rights. True, there have been a few lonely voices trying to remind us of our rejection of God, like Abp. Vigano and Bp. Schneider (and a few Protestant evangelicals), but far from a critical mass of repentance.

As for the reaction in the Church, it has been the same as the reaction to Vatican II: surrender to the enemy (in the case of VII, welcome the new Mass, welcome the open windows and all the “reforms,” don’t worry about the profanation of Mass and the priesthood, the empty seminaries, the scandals, the apostasy…in this case, wear your masks, get your shot, sit 6 feet apart if you’re even allowed to step inside a church, etc. Don’t worry about the fact that these “vaccines” may seriously injure you or kill you, don’t worry that this “pandemic” is being promoted by evil psychopaths…). Love your neighbor by getting your shot!

In other words, considering the nature and quality of the reaction so far, I’d venture to say that the world continues to be clueless about the real reason for this calamity. That is, the world continues to be focused on “self” and the loss of our “normal” lives, not on God and the loss of His grace.

A lot of people are connecting the secular dots and realizing that our governments have turned into tyrannies. But not very many people have extended the dots beyond that, to the causal/supernatural level: our governments have turned into tyrannies because we have displeased God. “All we like sheep have gone astray, every one hath turned aside into his own way…”

The words of St. John Eudes should be ringing in the ears of the Catholic hierarchy: I will send you revolutionary men (as punishment for your sins and to convince you to repent).

And if I’m correct, the failure to remedy the real cause of this calamity doesn’t spell happy news for us, for the near-term future.

      • RCA Victor,

I always wonder when I hear the claim that the Third Secret speaks of an “evil Council”. I find that hard to believe because Pope John XXIII read it and I think if he had seen that, he would have pulled back from starting the Council. Instead, he said “this is not for our time”. Well, he must have known that Councils are few and far between and if Our Lady said it had to be released no later than 1960, it had to be his Council.

That’s what I always think when I hear that Our Lady is supposed to have spoken of “an evil Council” – I also don’t think that sounds like Our Lady at all. She didn’t even say “evil Communism”, when you think about it, just “Communism”.

I do agree about the chastisement though – that is exactly what is happening but we have brought it on ourselves because if we had said “no” we are not giving up our freedoms, especially to worship God in public in our churches, things would have ended before they’d begun.

        • Michaela,

That (“evil Council”) is indeed an interesting point, as Editor – er, lovely Editor, has already pointed out. I believe I got that from Fr. Gruner and his troops’ continual speculation about the contents of the Third Secret.

While we’re on the subject, I’m trying to recall the timeline. John XXIII called the Council on January 25, 1959 with fervent hopes to renew (??) the Church spiritually and reunite separated Christians.

John XXIII opened the Third Secret a few days after August 17,1959. In other words, his plans for the Council were already well afoot at that time. Consider this: if you were thoroughly enchanted with the prospects of a grand Council that would have – you hoped – transforming results for the Church, what would your reaction be if you read a warning in the Third Secret about an evil Council?

Well, we can guess what his reaction was by two things: he stated that the Third Secret was not for his papacy, and he then indirectly referred to it – and scoffed at it – in his opening speech to the Council, wherein he spoke of “prophets of doom”:

“In the daily exercise of our pastoral office, we sometimes have to listen, much to our regret, to voices of persons who, though burning with zeal, are not endowed with too much sense of discretion or measure. In these modern times they can see nothing but prevarication and ruin. They say that our era, in comparison with past eras, is getting worse, and they behave as though they had learned nothing from history, which is, none the less, the teacher of life. They behave as though at the time of former Councils everything was a full triumph for the Christian idea and life and for proper religious liberty.

We feel we must disagree with those prophets of gloom, who are always forecasting disaster, as though the end of the world were at hand.”

I’m guessing that while he wouldn’t dare to have called Our Lady a “prophet of doom,” he decided to take a swipe at the Fatima seers – Sr. Lucia in particular.

Meanwhile, the rest of us have learned the lesson that John XXIII did not learn: God’s ways are not our ways. Although, there is a somewhat apocalyptic story that on his deathbed he said emphatically “Stop the Council! Stop the Council!”

If that story is true, then perhaps as death approached he was given a vision of what those “prophets of doom” were talking about….

One more thing: I found a Remnant article from 2018 that repeats the evil Council (or, “bad Council” as it is called here) hypothesis:

          • RCA Victor,

To answer your question “what would your reaction be?” My reaction would be to cancel the Council right away but you may be right that the pope wouldn’t react like that having set the ball rolling.

I don’t think he would have considered the Fatima seers to be prophets of doom though because they were only children, reporting Our Lady’s words, and as you say he would hardly call Our Lady a prophet of doom.

I heard that there were cardinals who warned him against having the Council in the first place, and that when he announced it, there was silence in the hall because so many cardinals knew that the liberals were waiting in the wings to use it as a way to change the Church.

That is a very interesting article at the Remnant and I was especially surprised by the quote early on from Pope Paul VI – I haven’t read that quote before.

Also, I haven’t read that quote from Benedict about “a bad Council and a bad Mass” but is that Our Lady speaking or Benedict? I’m not sure. It’s extremely interesting, though, so I’m glad you posted it.

          • RCA Victor,

I suspect that it was Fr Kramer (from among Fr Gruner’s “troops”) who said that, as he has said a number of dubious things about Our Lady of Fatima – so I’d not make that my main argument in your shoes. That is, assuming you MAKE arguments in your shoes… 😀

Heading away from my computer again but as soon as I get the chance, will read that Remnant article on the subject, after which I may be back to eat humble pie…

      • RCA Victor,

You just don’t get it right at all, do you? See if you can spot what’s wrong with your opening sentence, as I repeat it below… You wrote:

        I can’t add anything to Editor’s lovely post…

Can you see it? The mistake? Exactly. You SHOULD have written:

        I can’t add anything to lovely Editor’s post…

See what I mean? You need to think before you write, RCA Victor. Think, think, think. And when you’ve done that, think again!

Couldn’t resist – been a busy, busy, busy day and I needed a laugh 😀 Especially at your expense… 😀

        • Editor,

As a impractical musician, I’ve often felt that my first sentence should have simply been:

          “I can’t add.”

Meanwhile, back at the zeroes in my paycheck…

          • RCA Victor,

You can’t add? Over here we call that being bad at arithmetic and even Maths. With an S on the end note. Over where you live, they show you can be bad at arithmetic, maths and English, all at once 😀

  7. This is from the Lockdown Sceptics site:

” Would that journalists and broadcasters paid as much attention to places with no restrictions doing fine as they do to the latest places experiencing a Covid surge.

All eyes are currently on India and especially Delhi where, after a year of little impact, the virus is making its nasty presence felt. But as Ivor Cummins points out, India for whatever reason has a long way to go to catch up with countries in Europe and the Americas when it comes to Covid deaths. The country is not a good comparison for the UK where the virus is endemic and substantial population immunity is now present.

If only our media would spend as much time telling the population about how Florida lifted its restrictions back in September, how South Dakota never had any, and how Texas and Mississippi reopened in full at the start of March, as they do telling us about how many people are in hospital in Delhi. The latest positive-test data for these open states is in the graph above, along with two other light-restriction states, South Carolina and Georgia. Note the conspicuous lack of surge despite being basically back to normal. What more evidence do our politicians and scientists need that the threat from the virus is overblown and does not warrant social restrictions or emergency measures? Is the Government interested in data which contradict their preferred narrative?

The Telegraph today is reporting that as of June 21st – another seven weeks away – Brits will be permitted once again to attend large events without anti-social and uneconomic distancing requirements and hug one another. Our ultra-cautious scientists are advising that these things might just be okay by then. Though in case you might have thought they would then end the seemingly endless state of emergency, they have said measures such as staggering entries to venues accommodating large groups and good ventilation will still be required. What part of normal don’t they understand?

Nor is there any indication of a move to return international travel to normal, as the country faces more limitations on travel this summer – when most of the country is vaccinated – than last summer – when none were. What this has to do with following the science is, as ever, unclear.

What’s strange is that even in America where parts of their own country are living free and showing that the measures aren’t needed, state governments, with popular support and backed by federal agencies, just carry on with their restrictions, lifting them only very slowly and with no obvious commitment to bringing them finally to an end. It’s as though people don’t want to know. Too much has been invested in the lockdown narrative, it seems, for people to be able to cope psychologically with the trauma of facing the truth that it is fundamentally false. Too many reputations are at risk. Too many interests coincide.

Are we doomed to live forever in this Covid state of emergency? I confess it is hard to see what will prompt governments to bring it to an end, now that we live in permanent fear of the appearance of variants and believe we must continually top up the whole world’s antibodies through rolling annual programmes of vaccinations. One of the most depressing thoughts is I find it almost impossible to imagine Boris Johnson facing the camera and announcing: “My friends, our ordeal is over. The data is clear. The virus is now one among many hazards with which we daily must live. Vaccines are available to the vulnerable, as are effective treatments, and we will continually strive to find the safest ways to protect those at risk from this and other illnesses. It is time to resume our old lives. I declare the state of emergency to be over.”

Will we ever reach a point where we no longer even think about whether some activity is “Covid secure”? Where we no longer see our fellow human beings as sources of infection? It would be good to hear much more often from the Government that this is where it believes we are headed, sooner rather than later.” (end of the piece from Lockdown Sceptics).

The second last paragraph above filled me with concern because I don’t think we are going to come out of this and get back to normal. I really don’t. The news of these Covid Marshalls has just confirmed my belief that this is definitely our “new normal”.

Also, it’s OK saying we should just take back our freedoms but if others won’t do the same, how free does that make me? If people around me want to stick to the rules, I can’t force them to come and visit etc.

    It’s a nightmare.

  8. This is a very good address of the current world situation by Fr. Isaac Mary Relyea at the Fatima Centre.
