England: Lawyer – Democracy Lost…

Comment:

It is refreshing to hear a Barrister speaking openly about the reality of what is going on in the UK today, that our freedoms have been taken away, that we are no longer functioning as a democracy.  Francis Hoar is acting on behalf of the Keep Britain Free group – click here to read their statement on Judicial Lockdown Review and their Victories To Date

Here’s one commentator’s opinion, published underneath the video on YouTube…

People should not be afraid of their Governments, Governments should be afraid of their people.

Easier said than done.  At one point in the conversation, Anna Brees asks about disobedience. Understandably, the lawyer offers no opinion. Wouldn’t look too good if the legal establishment went about exhorting us all to break the law, I suppose…  However,  I find that I am more and more and more determined to disobey, with every new restriction announced. Those with jobs to think about, thought, may not enjoy the luxury of blatantly refusing to obey.

Does this mean, then, that we have no option but to keep doing what we’re told – indefinitely?

USA: Biden Bombshell Suppressed by Facebook & Twitter – Election Over?

Comment:

Joe Biden, the man challenging Donald Trump for the Presidency in November, is now exposed as a blatant liar.  Catholics are already morally prohibited from voting for him due to his support for abortion  up to birth – i.e.  infanticide; no Catholic worthy of the name can possibly contribute to empowering the murder of innocent children, whether before or after birth.   Now, he is known to have lied – big time – with his corruption laid bare for all the world to see.  How on earth can any Catholic, or, indeed, any person of integrity, vote for this man to become President of the USA, and leader of the (once) free world?

Does this breaking news mean that the election is over, that Donald Trump will secure another 4 years?  Or, does the deliberate suppression of this shocking news by social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter  mean that Biden is likely to win a manifestly rigged election in November?

England: Three-Tier System Introduced… But Is It POSSIBLE To Conquer A Virus?

Comment:

Are you impressed with the way Keir Starmer, Labour Leader and Leader of the Opposition is “scrutinising” the Westminster Government’s handling of the Coronavirus “crisis”?  It seems to me that any parliamentarian who still thinks there is a “crisis” cannot possibly properly and fully scrutinise the Government and its medical and scientific “experts”.  But you may disagree.  If so, let’s hear it.

First, though, I need to make one thing clear;  I sometimes receive emails from those who have been affected by Covid-19, either directly or indirectly (through family and friends) and our comments here are sometimes interpreted as dismissive of the gravity of the virus.  I have replied with a reassurance that we do not deny that this is a real virus and a particularly nasty virus.  Our concern is simply this: that the scientific experts having emphasised that most who become infected recover,  it cannot be right, surely, for any Government (let alone the Governments of the entire world) to close down the economy and lock us into our homes. Then, when lockdown ends, to make us live under various restrictions – in short, removing our personal and religious freedoms, on the assumption that in this way a virus – any virus – can be eradicated.  If that is the case, why was this strategy not used years and years ago to conquer other viruses, notably the annual flu?

With that thought in mind, let us read your opinion about these latest restrictions in England – the “three tier” approach.  We are told that Nicola Sturgeon is considering a similar system for Scotland although whether ours will be three or multiple tiers, remains to be seen, according to BBC Reporting Scotland earlier this evening.  We’ll find out several weeks from now – a clue that, as I think we all know, this new form of Government control is not going to end… It’s here to stay (as the politicians themselves have admitted more than once) “indefinitely”.

Are we all just going to roll over and accept this continuing totalitarianism?

Freemasonic Encyclical: Fratelli tutti… Tutti Frutti… Where’s The Catholic Bit?

Blogger, Athanasius writes…

I spent several hours reading the Encyclical of Pope Francis Fratelli tutti but got nowhere near reading it in its entirety – it’s the size of War & Peace and all about the Brotherhood of Man. It reads like the Masonic blueprint for the New World Order complete with that fundamental heresy that embraces all religions as being instruments of the one God “in whom we all believe”, Muslims, Jews and Christians. Really horrendous stuff from a Pope and completely the opposite in worldview from the Traditional teaching of the Church based on the Gospels. [Editor: interesting, in that there are headlines in cyberspace linking this encyclical to Freemasonry – e.g. Freemasons Acclaim Pope Francis’ New Encyclical Fratelli Tutti, Embodies One of the Guiding Principles of Freemasonry…]

Here are a few passages…

The different religions, based on their respect for each human person as a creature called to be a child of God, contribute significantly to building fraternity and defending justice in society. Dialogue between the followers of different religions does not take place simply for the sake of diplomacy, consideration or tolerance. In the words of the Bishops of India, “the goal of dialogue is to establish friendship, peace and harmony, and to share spiritual and moral values and experiences in a spirit of truth and love”. #271

From our faith experience and from the wisdom accumulated over centuries, but also from lessons learned from our many weaknesses and failures, we, the believers of the different religions, know that our witness to God benefits our societies. The effort to seek God with a sincere heart, provided it is never sullied by ideological or self-serving aims, helps us recognize one another as travelling companions, truly brothers and sisters. #272

The Church esteems the ways in which God works in other religions, and “rejects nothing of what is true and holy in these religions. She has a high regard for their manner of life and conduct, their precepts and doctrines which… often reflect a ray of that truth which enlightens all men and women”. #273

A journey of peace is possible between religions. Its point of departure must be God’s way of seeing things. “God does not see with his eyes, God sees with his heart. And God’s love is the same for everyone, regardless of religion. Even if they are atheists, his love is the same. When the last day comes, and there is sufficient light to see things as they really are, we are going to find ourselves quite surprised”. #274

I wonder whatever happened to fallen human nature and its inclination to sin. In fact I wonder what happened to Our Lord’s Gospel assurance that “the poor you will always have with you…”  and “unless a man be baptised with water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven”, and again “Go ye therefore teaching all nation whatsoever I have commanded you, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost…”

Francis reckons a good old chinwag in “dialogue” with our Muslim, Jewish and other non-Christian/non-Catholic “brothers and sisters” is far more important if we are to build a better common home here on earth – he even praises the role of the U.N in helping to achieve this. Real heresy and, dare I say, apostasy!

This is about the Freemasonic agenda, the universal brotherhood of man, that “new humanism” which Paul VI called Vatican II, but which Cardinal Suenens declared “The French Revolution in the Church”. The Encyclical would have been more aptly named “Tutti-Frutti” since it attempts to include all flavours of religion and non-religion in the pursuit of the new brotherhood that does not have Christ the King as its head.   [See] the Papal Encyclical of Pope Pius XI on Christ the King, to highlight the contrast between a Catholic Pope and a Communist one!

Comment:

There is also  the following jibe directed, it seems, at  President Trump in this “brotherly” encyclical. Under the headline “Shameless Aggression”  we read:

Things that until a few years ago could not be said by anyone without risking the loss of universal respect can now be said with impunity, and in the crudest of terms, even by some political figures. Nor should we forget that “there are huge economic interests operating in the digital world, capable of exercising forms of control as subtle as they are invasive, creating mechanisms for the manipulation of consciences and of the democratic process. The way many platforms work often ends up favouring encounter between persons who think alike, shielding them from debate. These closed circuits facilitate the spread of fake news and false information, fomenting prejudice and hate”. #45

In conclusion, rather than belabour the obvious point that this must rank as one of the worst ever papal encyclicals – we’re talking, of all time –  I think it better to end this “through gritted teeth” comment with a quote from the encyclical of Pope Pius XI on the Kingship of Christ. This serves to contrast this latest papal encyclical of Pope Francis with authentic Catholic teaching on the relationship of Christ’s Church to the world… Read on, and tell us if you agree… or not.

This kingdom is spiritual and is concerned with spiritual things. That this is so the above quotations from Scripture amply prove, and Christ by his own action confirms it. On many occasions, when the Jews and even the Apostles wrongly supposed that the Messiah would restore the liberties and the kingdom of Israel, he repelled and denied such a suggestion. When the populace thronged around him in admiration and would have acclaimed him King, he shrank from the honor and sought safety in flight. Before the Roman magistrate he declared that his kingdom was not of this world. The gospels present this kingdom as one which men prepare to enter by penance, and cannot actually enter except by faith and by baptism, which, though an external rite, signifies and produces an interior regeneration. This kingdom is opposed to none other than to that of Satan and to the power of darkness. It demands of its subjects a spirit of detachment from riches and earthly things, and a spirit of gentleness. They must hunger and thirst after justice, and more than this, they must deny themselves and carry the cross.”  (Quas Primas: Encyclical of Pope Pius XI on the Feast of Christ The King, 11 December, 1925)

7/10: Feast of the Holy Rosary… For Your Diary – Public Rosary in Glasgow, 10/10

Comment:

The above hymn is set to a different tune from that with which most of us in Scotland grew up, but which is nowhere to be found on YouTube.  In any event, it’s a pretty tune, and gives honour to Our Lady on this beautiful Feast of the Most Holy Rosary

Notice. . .

Our blogger Catherine has been asking us, for many months now, to publicise a Rosary for the specific intention of the Consecration of Russia, in the manner requested by Our Lady of Fatima. We are pleased to comply with Catherine’s request, given the fact that our political situation is now increasingly serious. We find ourselves living under a very different type of governance where our leaders  now simply issue orders – “rule by decree” – which is typical of totalitarian regimes. Our personal and religious freedoms have been removed  in the name of a virus which is harmless in most people who  become infected, and which contributes to the death of very few indeed.  Initially sold to us as a temporary measure, it is very clear that the drastic changes to our way of life are here to stay – indefinitely.  Elsewhere on this blog you will find evidence of the intention of the world’s “elite” to use the Coronavirus in order to “reset” the world.  Sound like a conspiracy theory?  As long as you don’t mind being proved wrong, click here

At Fatima, Our Lady warned that Russia would spread her errors, and chief amongst those errors is Communism.  Using fear of the Coronavirus, the Governments of the UK have managed to remove our personal and religious freedoms, promising that this is a temporary measure to prevent the spread of this non-deadly virus.

Fear has now gripped the population, including the clergy; priests and bishops are pledged to co-operate in implementing Government rules and regulations in our churches. Thus, we are happy to comply with Catherine’s request for a public rosary specifically dedicated to praying for the graces necessary to bring the Pope and Bishops of the world to see the need to  obey Our Lady and properly consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart.

Arrangements for Public Rosary, Saturday, 10 October, 3pm. . .

Meet at the Clyde Walkway, opposite St Andrew’s Catholic Cathedral on Clyde Street, Glasgow, at 3pm

Father Stephen Dunn will lead the fifteen decades of the Rosary, as well as the very short Litany of Our Lady of Loretto and the Prayer to St Michael, Archangel.

A friend of Catherine’s has offered to bring a bier holding a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which means that we may be able to process during the Rosary. We will either stand to pray or process.

We ask everyone who can manage to come along, because public prayer is very powerful, very pleasing to God at the best of times and especially at this time, given that He has been denied the worship due to Him for months now, because of State control over the Church.

This thread will remain open for questions – Catherine will respond to any enquiries in the comments below.

Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us!

Glasgow Priest-Policeman To Un-Masked Layman: Obey Or Forfeit Sacraments…

St Mungo’s, Townhead, Glasgow

Catholic Truth blogger Athanasius, aka Martin Blackshaw, writes…

In what can only be described as providential timing, I encountered first-hand on Saturday the evil that Fr. Dunn warned of in his letter challenging the bishops of Scotland on their Covid-19 response measures.

The venue of my bitter experience was St. Mungo’s church in Glasgow’s Townhead, the source of the evil was the superior of the Passionists there, Fr. Frank Keevins.

Having clearly been tipped off that I had entered the church for Confession, dismissing, as is my Catholic duty, the faithless and dehumanising house rules for entry imposed by Scotland’s wayward hierarchy, Fr. Keevins skulked around outside awaiting my departure in order to “have a word”

The word mumbled from behind his pitiful little face covering was that unless I conform to the Covid-19 tyranny of the State, as per the capitulation of the bishops and their clerical enforcers, I will not be allowed to enter that particular House of God again. In fine – no mask, no Sacraments.

Two Gospel texts came to my mind as he spoke; one being Our Lord’s condemnation of the Pharisees who close the kingdom of heaven to souls, neither entering themselves, the other His just wrath visited upon the worldly Temple moneychangers.

Imagine Our Saviour turning up in the flesh at St. Mungo’s today only to be greeted by a masked usher asking for His contact details, squirting him

with sanitiser, handing him a State muzzle and offering to guide Him to one of the few pews not taped off. I think it fair to conclude that having turned away from that worldly place, emptied of God, there would not be left a stone upon a stone.

No matter how hard I tried to explain this reality to Fr. Keevins, reminding him of the very grave evil he was perpetrating, evil that could well result in the loss of his own immortal soul, he remained unmoved and resolute. His response was a flippant “I will take that risk” as he sought refuge in “blind obedience” to the bishops – that monumental error of our time that robs the free children of God of their liberty on the whim of abusive ecclesiastical authority.

This recourse of Fr. Keevins to blind obedience rather reminded me of the pathetic defence of the Nazis at Nuremberg who sought to justify their wickedness with the line “I was only obeying orders”.

To be absolutely clear on this point, it is the teaching of the Church that subordinates must obey the legitimate ecclesiastical authority in all that is consistent with the faith handed down. However, it is equally incumbent upon them to refuse obedience when the ecclesiastical authority issues commands that are detrimental to the faith and harmful to souls.

There is no question that by their treacherous compliance with unjust secular laws relating to Covid-19, laws that subordinate the superior supernatural authority of the Church to the inferior State, trampling the freedom and dignity of Christ’s flock along the way, these worldly bishops and priests must be resisted by all Catholics who retain a true sense of the faith and zeal for the honour of God.

It has been patently obvious for several months now that Covid-19 represents no threat to health for 99.7% of the global population; this is verified both by official statistics and the declarations of the world’s leading scientists.

Hence this unholy behaviour of our clerical superiors, unprecedented in ecclesiastical history even during times of real plague, is proof positive that the Church is presently undergoing a great crisis of faith in her clergy, a crisis that demands of the faithful serious discernment in the grave matter of which priests they entrust their salvation to.

The Redemptorist missionary admonition of tradition reads “You have one life to live and one soul to save; death will come soon, then heaven or hell for all eternity”. With these words of true wisdom ever present in our minds let us all resolve to reject the spirit of “the Prince of this world” that so many bishops and priests have succumbed to – and are trying to subject us to.

Our clear duty is to seek out faithful clergy, supernatural men of God noted for their love of God and their spiritual zeal for souls. These, in my experience, are generally priests who celebrate the ancient Latin Mass of the saints and martyrs and are conspicuous for their Eucharistic devotion, rejecting the much-abused, irreverence-inducing indult of Communion in the hand to standing communicants.

While they are by far the minority these days, often disdained and marginalised by their worldly bishops and confreres, these are the priests whose voice resonates within our souls as the true voice of the Good Shepherd.

Comment:

To date, only one priest has gone on the record in Scotland (and, as far as we know, in the entire UK) to express his shock at the way the Bishops are implementing Government Covid-19 restrictions, placing themselves at the service of the State – that is to say, they have chosen to serve Man not God. This, of course, contradicts the Gospel imperative: Our Lord teaches very clearly that we cannot serve two masters – we must choose God or the world.  If we try to serve both, we will come to hate the one and love the other (Luke 16:13)  The Bishops of  Scotland and the wider UK seem to have made their choice. This, of course, has been true for many years now, so we are entitled to ask if, in fact, they have come to hate God. They certainly do not appear to love Him more than the corrupt politicians from whom they are taking their orders, turning the Father’s House into a den of thieves.

But, what about the rest of us? Martin Blackshaw has made his position crystal clear: he’ll be complying with this ridiculous Covidiocy around ten years after Cadbury ceases chocolate-making.  But what about you and me – will we go along with these outrageous restrictions through fear of fines and imprisonment? Are we likely to choose God over Nicola Sturgeon, in the absence of the kind of moral and spiritual leadership which we have a right to expect from our religious leaders?  Bishops and priests are clearly afraid of the possibility of finding themselves with a criminal conviction, and their fear is understandable… until, that is, we recall the many priest-martyrs at the time of the Reformation who were criminalised  – and executed  (our own Scottish martyr, John Ogilvie SJ included) – simply for refusing to stop offering Holy Mass.  Quite a standard – sets the bar very high for us all.

So… what now?  Should priests who refuse the Sacraments to non-compliant laity, be disciplined?  Share your thoughts…

Immaculate Heart of Mary,          pray for us!

Vatican Scandal: Moral Imperative For Cardinal Pell To Continue His Exposé?

Comment:

Throughout the persecution of Cardinal George Pell, Andrew Bolt faithfully reported the facts of his arrest and trial.  So, it is interesting to hear his view about the need for the Vatican to welcome back the Cardinal to finish the work of exposing the financial rot – which, more likely than not, was the trigger for the laying of false charges against him. We can see, through their outrageous enforcement of the Covid-19 restrictions as well as their handling of the false allegations against Cardinal Pell,  that the legal community in Victoria is also corrupt.

It is clear that Cardinal Pell does not wish to return to any post in the Vatican – which is understandable.  Does he, however, have  a moral obligation to finish what he started – i.e. expose to the full glare of all necessary publicity, the evil and corruption at the heart of the Vatican?

October & Living Rosary Association…

Ven. Pauline Jaricot

The following article, written by Kevin Rowles, one of our English readers,
is published here, with permission…

On May 26th 2020, Pope Francis authorized the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, to promulgate the Decree concerning the miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Pauline Maria Jaricot, Foundress of the Societies of the “Council of the Propagation of the Faith” and of the “Living Rosary”, opening the way to her beatification. As we approach the month of the Rosary, I thought readers might like to know a little bit more about the important work of this incredible organisation.

The Living Rosary Association was founded in 1826 by Venerable Pauline Jaricot, then aged 27, at Lyon, France. The Venerable Pauline had already founded the Society for the Propagation of the Faith at the age of 20, and was a close friend of the Curé of Ars. The Living Rosary devotion spread like wildfire throughout the world and was formally approved and richly indulgenced by Pope Gregory XVI, and accorded official canonical status on January 27, 1832.

The Living Rosary is a perpetual devotion. That is, once joined, you agree to pray a daily decade of the Rosary faithfully for the remainder of your life. This obligation doesn’t bind under pain of sin, but your effort and desire to remain faithful are crucial. Your decade may be offered at any time of the day or night. ULRA builds a list of 15 names of those who contact them, wishing to join the Living Rosary. Each of the 15 people are then allotted their specific mystery to pray every day and are notified by post which mystery they are to be allotted and when to begin it. The intention of the decade is always the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in honour of Saint Philomena.

Patti Melvin of Texas, U.S.A began the revival of The Living Rosary Association on December 8, 1986, with 30 members. The apostolate has been richly blessed by Our Lady and under the powerful patronage of St. Philomena, the membership now stands at 8,000,000 and has been planted in every continent of the world. Each member is asked to voluntarily give a monthly donation if possible, as the organisation has no other means of financial support. The donations received are then ploughed straight back into spreading the Living Rosary devotion, maintaining the ULRA centre, and mailing devotional literature and sacramentals such as the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, the Miraculous Medal, St Philomena’s Cord and St Philomena’s Oil to the missions and elsewhere throughout the world. If it isn’t possible to donate financially, ULRA asks that its members pray fervently that its material needs are met. The Living Rosary has ecclesiastical approval and is affiliated to the Shrine of St Philomena at Mugnano, Italy.

One ULRA article states: “In these days of evil, chaos, confusion, division and Modernism, the Living Rosary will be a mighty force in every family, parish, diocese and country. The Holy Rosary is a gift to us from the Queen of Heaven. If the Rosary is prayed faithfully and is strengthened by the unity of association, it will render the attacks of Satan impotent. The Living Rosary is endowed with great power before the throne of God through the union of charity that flows through its members. Immense are the graces and merits obtained daily, by every member, when united and animated by the fire of Divine Love in the Immaculate Heart of Mary. One who prays the Rosary alone receives the grace and merits of a single Rosary, but if he or she is united with EIGHT million members, then all of the graces and merits of the whole are gained.”

A regular newsletter called Dedicated Decades is posted to members. It is a beautiful magazine, full of traditional and inspiring Catholic devotional articles, pictures and prayers. It also contains reports of ULRA’s work and many testimonials from all over the world of spiritual and temporal graces received through the practice of the Living Rosary and the intercession of Our Blessed Lady and St Philomena. Dedicated Decades is a wonderful antidote to the spiritually poisonous literature so prevalent today. All ULRA literature and prayer cards show the Mass represented in the traditional form.

One letter published by ULRA, dated October 19th 2007, was heart-breaking to read:-

Cher Madame Patti, Bonjour from Goma in D.R. Congo. We have not written to you for a long time because the situation here in Eastern Congo is the very worst in the world according to U.N. reports. We are so sorry we missed Emma’s visit to us (Emma – Emmanuel is the ULRA African Liaison). We hear now he is in Sudan. God bless him! Oh, the renegade rebel, General Nkunda of Rwandan descent is massacring our people in large numbers! Many teachers and pupils cried to me to give them the Miraculous Medal, so at least when they are shot, they will be dressed in Our Lady’s medal. I told them I had none as when Emma came, we told him not to come to us, as we feared for his life. I am so sorry to say that many of those who cried for medals have since been killed. We had over 320,000 refugees who lived here and now they have been scattered. We have no way to reach Emma. When will he be back in Rwanda so that he can send us the medals? When is he coming out of Sudan? We are in the middle of the biggest war. Rebels invade at night and kill, claiming to be protecting the Tutsi of Rwandan origin. Please save the situation. If only Emma could come, we might at least die wearing Our Lady’s Miraculous Medal. We beg you, let us at least die with Mother Mary. Hear our voice! We cannot pray now, because we are all running and hiding, but at least the precious Medal would be around our neck. Please reply. We have no other hope! Bonnie in Bukavu, Congo is also struck and cut off from us . . .”

A tragedy like this is certainly enough to put our own problems into perspective, and it should also act as a rebuke to those Catholics who display general indifference and sometimes even contempt towards the beautiful sacramentals that Our Lady has given to aid us in our journey towards eternal salvation. It should also act as a prompt to us, to help make such sacramentals available to as many others as possible.

I joined ULRA and was given my decade, the Nativity of Our Lord, to start on Christmas Day 2003. Through good times and bad, it is comforting to know that one is part of a great spiritual family, supporting each other and praying for the most important of intentions – the hastening of Our Blessed Lady’s promise given at Fatima: “In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph”. I urge you to join – you won’t regret it!
