Why Question Only Vatican II And Not Trent Or Vatican I? Archbishop Viganò…

Below, extracts from a June 2020 interview about Vatican II with Archbishop Vigano – From Catholic Culture

Archbishop Vigano: I do not think that it is necessary to demonstrate that the Council represents a problem: the simple fact that we are raising this question about Vatican II and not about Trent or Vatican I seems to me to confirm a fact that is obvious and recognized by everyone. In reality, even those who defend the Council with swords drawn find themselves doing so apart from all the other previous ecumenical councils, of which not even one was ever said to be a pastoral council. And note that they call it “the Council” par excellence, as if it was the one and only council in the entire history of the Church, or at least considering it as an unicum whether because of the formulation of its doctrine or for the authority of its magisterium. It is a council that, differently from all those that preceded it, called itself a pastoral council, declaring that it did not want to propose any new doctrine, but which in fact created a distinction between before and after, between a dogmatic council and a pastoral council, between unequivocal canons and empty talk, between anathema sit and winking at the world…

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò

You ask me: “How were all the Council fathers deceived?” I reply by drawing on my experience of those years and the words of my brothers with whom I engaged in discussion at that time. No one could have imagined that right in the heart of the ecclesial body there were hostile forces so powerful and organized that they could succeed in rejecting the perfectly orthodox preparatory schemas that had been prepared by Cardinals and Prelates with a reliable fidelity to the Church, replacing them with a bundle of cleverly disguised errors behind long-winded and deliberately equivocal speeches.

No one could have believed that, right under the vaults of the Vatican Basilica, the estates-general could be convoked that would decree the abdication of the Catholic Church and the inauguration of the Revolution…

The Council Fathers were the object of a sensational deception, of a fraud that was cleverly perpetrated by having recourse to the most subtle means: they found themselves in the minority in the linguistic groups, excluded from meetings convened at the last moment, pressured into giving their placet by making them believe that the Holy Father wanted it. And what the innovators did not succeed in obtaining in the Conciliar Aula, they achieved in the Commissions and Committees, thanks also to the activism of theologians and periti who were accredited and acclaimed by a powerful media machine. There is a vast array of studies and documents that testify to this systematic malicious mens [mentality] of some of the Council Fathers on the one hand, and the naïve optimism or carelessness of other well-intentioned Council Fathers on the other. The activity of the Coetus Internationalis Patrum [opposing the innovators] could do little or nothing, when the violations of the rules by the progressives were ratified at the Sacred Table itself [by the Pope].  Click here to read entire interview

29/6: Feast of SS Peter & Paul – Is Pope Putting Brakes On Dissent in Germany?

Vatican City, Jun 27, 2020 : Pope Francis “appreciates” the German Church’s “Synodal Way,” the president of the German bishops’ conference said after meeting with the pope Saturday.

In a statement following his private audience with the pope June 27, Bishop Georg Bätzing said: “I feel strengthened by the intensive exchange with the Holy Father to continue on the path we have taken. The pope appreciates this project, which he associates closely with the concept of ‘synodality’ which he coined.”

He continued: “It was a matter of concern to me to make it clear that the Church in Germany is following this path and always knows that she is bound to the universal Church.”

Bätzing traveled to the Vatican the day after the German Church released figures showing that it lost a record number of members in 2019.

The statistics, issued June 26, showed that 272,771 people exited the Catholic Church last year, a significant increase on the 2018 figure of 216,078.

In Bätzing’s own diocese of Limburg, 9,439 people left the Catholic Church in 2019, 1,459 more than in 2018.

Bätzing said Saturday: “We must find answers to urgent challenges facing the Church, ranging from coming to terms with sexual abuse of minors to the dramatic numbers of people leaving the Church.” ….

Referring to a 28-page letter that Pope Francis wrote last year to German Catholics, Bätzing said: “With his letter to the pilgrim people of God of the Church in Germany in June 2019, he encouraged and gave indications. He will continue to accompany us attentively.”

The pope’s letter was prompted by the German bishops’ decision to launch a two-year “Synodal Way,” bringing together lay people and bishops to discuss four main topics: the way power is exercised in the Church; sexual morality; the priesthood; and the role of women.

The German bishops initially said that the process would end with a series of “binding” votes — raising concerns at the Vatican that the resolutions might challenge the Church’s teaching and discipline.

In his letter, the pope suggested that participants in the “Synodal Way” faced a particular “temptation.”

“At the basis of this temptation, there is the belief that the best response to the many problems and shortcomings that exist is to reorganize things, change them and ‘put them back together’ to bring order and make ecclesial life easier by adapting it to the current logic or that of a particular group,” he wrote…  [emphasis added].

In May, Bätzing expressed the hope that the results of Germany’s “Synodal Way” would be discussed at a synod in Rome.

He said he was “very much in favor of transporting to Rome, to the level of the whole Church, the insights and decisions that we garner from the Synodal Process — also with regard to [the role of] women and ecclesial ministry” …

After his meeting with Pope Francis, he said he looked forward to a meeting of the world’s bishops in Rome in October 2022, which will be dedicated to the theme “For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission.”

He said: “I hope that with the experiences of the Synodal Way we can make a contribution to the world Synod of Bishops in October 2022, which will deal with the question of synodality.”   Click here to read entire piece at Catholic World Report

Comment:

While Pope Francis appears to sound a warning note about the danger of the “Synodal Way” (which is, at least, arguably designed to encourage dissent), he does, at the same time, seem to approve it.  Allowing the topics listed to be raised and debated, such as the role of women (when female ordination is out of the question, cannot happen), could be interpreted as Pope Francis giving the green light to dissent.

So, which is it?  Is he encouraging dissent or putting the brakes on the already dissent-ridden Church in Germany?

On this Feast of SS Peter & Paul, when we celebrate the Gospel account of Our Lord’s entrusting of the keys of the Kingdom to Peter,  we might assess the pontificate of Pope Francis.  Raise any relevant issues of interest and/or concern in the comments, but above all, let’s remember to pray especially for Pope Francis today.

USA: “Chaos by Design” May Cost Trump Re-Election – Tucker Carlson…

Comment:

After watching the above video, you may feel that if Donald Trump, for all his faults, is not re-elected in November, then we can well and truly – all of us in the western world – say “goodbye” to our civil and religious liberty for the foreseeable future.

Tucker’s point that what we are witnessing is not really chaos – that the rioting and apparent chaos is happening by design, should strike a chord with us all.  It is certainly by design, and I’m not thinking of the nearest famous fashion icon.   What is going on right now in the USA and to a lesser extent (so far) here in the UK, is by satanic design.

So, what will the immediate future hold, do we think, if Joe Biden is elected President in November?  After all, he is a Catholic – at least, to be a tad more precise, he identifies as a Catholic… So, should we be supporting “Sleepy Joe”?

English Catholics Challenge Lockdown in Court – Praying to St Thomas More!

One of our English readers has been emailing to inform me about a court case being launched to challenge the UK Government lockdown.  Things are moving forward…  Here’s the latest update…

The date set for this Court case is more than a coincidence surely!  Our Lady wants her Dowry back and we must help her.

Can I please beg you all for the most ardent prayers for the success of this endeavour; asking the intercession of St Thomas More, Patron of Lawyers.

Crowd Justice Statement…

Update on Join the Legal Challenge to the UK Govt Lockdown

Our battle against the Government’s lockdown will go before a High Court judge on July 2.

The date – which will mark the 101st day since the UK was placed into lockdown – has been set aside for an application for permission to seek Judicial Review. This hearing is the important first step in the process and is the first official court date in our legal challenge.

It was set just days after the Government found itself under-fire following the claim in its defence papers that it had not ordered schools to close and that it was merely a “request”that they did.

The revelation sparked backlash from schools and parents alarmed over how the trick of words from Prime Minister Boris Johnson has meant more than 11 million children being out of school since March 23. Many private schools declared they would be opening regardless in September “come what may”, using hygiene measures and their own test and trace measures.

While lockdown means the hearing will take place via video link and not physically in the High Court, it will follow normal rules in terms of access to the public and media.

The Government will be represented by one of country’s top QCs, First Treasury Counsel Sir James Eadie. Its legal team also includes 3 barristers.

July 2 will be just over 100 days since lockdown and what has happened every day in this period underlines how important the Judicial Review is.

In that time, £2.5bn has been wiped off the UK economy each day, millions of children are shut out of school, the NHS faces a waiting list explosion, and the freedoms of liberties everyone in the UK have been trampled over. In all this time, the Government has shown the agility of a beached whale.

It has sought to kick this legal process into the long grass time and time again. Even its response was issued 3 minutes before the deadline. Its strategy seems to be to label our claims as ‘absurd’ and to shut down any scrutiny of the most draconian set of rules this country has known.

We have already forced the publishing of the SAGE meeting minutes, and unmasked the closure of schools as a trick of words from a government now trying to weasel its way out of a decision around education which is a stain on the history of this country.

There has been no democratic process on lockdown, which is why we must turn to the courts. Few people will realise there was a debate over the lockdown in the Commons recently. It is a disgrace that only a handful of MPs attended – a point made by some of the MPs themselves – this is why I believe the legal work to unpick the Government’s actions as part of the Judicial Review is so vital.  Lockdown must end now.

The Judicial Review will seek to challenge the Government on three main points:

• Whether lockdown is unlawful because the Government implemented regulations under the Public Health Act 1984 instead of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 or the Coronavirus Act 2020.

• The legality of the continuation of lockdown, and whether the tests for lifting it are too narrow, failing to take account of the economic and social impacts of lockdown.

• Whether the restrictions brought in by the Government contravene the European Convention of Human Rights, which cover the right to liberty, family life, education and property.

We are represented by Michael Gardner of law firm Wedlake Bell LLP and barrister Francis Hoar of Field Court Chambers. Philip Havers QC, a barrister and Deputy High Court Judge who specialises in public law, human rights and public inquiries, is also instructed as part of the legal team.

Let’s all pray for the success of this courageous enterprise, because, as we are now discovering – just what we suspected all along – even with the alleged easing of the lockdown, more restrictions to our freedom are being put in place  Check out the short video talk below, and ask yourself if you are quite happy, or even simply willing to reconcile yourself, to this manifestly “new normal”…

Scottish Government does not truly believe virus claims – response to Sturgeon letter

Those of us living in Scotland are receiving a letter from Nicola Sturgeon this week (I hope they publish the financial costs involved in sending out all the propaganda we’ve been sent about this virus).  There is  no copy of this latest letter on the Government website that I can find, although the following notice is posted:

Households will be sent information explaining how the Test and Protect system works and setting out what to do if someone develops coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms.

NHS Test and Protect is being delivered by NHS Scotland to reduce the risk of the virus spreading. People with symptoms are urged to get tested straight away, with positive cases then referred to contact tracers.

The advice is being issued as the country moves into phase 2 of the Scottish Government’s exit strategy routemap with more restrictions being lifted and the new message to ‘Stay safe. Protect others. Save lives’. End of extract.

Martin Blackshaw (aka Athanasius) has been busy on his keyboard, again challenging the powers-that-be on the matter of the ongoing lockdown – this time writing to Nicola Sturgeon.  I plan to do the same myself, a little later and I urge everyone reading this who receives her letter, to do the same.  It’s outrageous that we are being patronised in this  way – clearly she, like the other politicians promoting this lockdown, works on the assumption that we’re all daft and don’t have any other source(s) of information.  I’d like to prove her wrong.

Martin’s letter is incomplete at the time of this writing, but he has kindly granted permission to publish it anyway.  Perhaps this reminder of some key facts, together with some new information, will encourage us all to let Nicola Sturgeon know that we’re not fools, we don’t believe the propaganda.

Martin writes…

I completed my letter to Nicola Sturgeon and sent it off today, copied to Jackson Carlaw and Richard Leonard on the opposition benches.

Here it is:

Dear First Minister,

A few days ago I received your general letter to the Scottish people in which you thank us for our “admirable” help in tackling the Covid-19 crisis. It is a letter that I believe will be historically recorded as one of the most condescending and untruthful letters ever written by a national leader.

The Scottish people, as you well know, had no choice in the matter of how Covid-19 was tackled. You simply assumed to yourself a totalitarian authority beyond your remit, as did Boris Johnson, and used it with police backing to suppress civil liberties and human rights. In effect, you imposed the Beijing method to treat the Chinese virus!

The people did not willingly co-operate in this appalling abuse of authority, they were coerced into compliance. If many resigned themselves to the power grab and its dire consequences it was only because government and the media terrified them into submission with propaganda to the effect that the plague was upon them. Fear is a great persuader, especially irrational fear induced psychologically by a government-sponsored ‘silent assassin’ narrative.

The ruse was finally exposed on June 7, however, when the Scottish Government in conjunction with Police Scotland permitted an anti-racism demonstration to take place on Glasgow Green. There were thousands of people present at that rally, very few of them wearing face masks and none of them observing social distancing rules.

This single event was proof positive that the Scottish Government had never truly believed Covid-19 to be a threat to the general public, a fact borne out by official statistics showing that less than 2500 people from a population of 5.5 million have died with the virus, though not necessarily of the virus.

This relatively small number equates to 0.04% of the Scottish population, of which around half were elderly people locked down in care homes while the remainder were largely people with compromised immune systems. In fine, these were tragic deaths of people who would have been at risk from any respiratory virus.

The same can be said of statistics south of the border; a relatively low percentage of deaths in terms of overall population conflated with deaths from all manner of other causes due to a general suspension of post mortem examinations and similarly questionable methods.

If 40% of empty NHS acute beds in the UK at the height of the “crisis” tells us anything it is that there was never a plague, just a virus which, as Sir Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England, declared from Downing Street on May 11, “is harmless for the majority”.

Both the Scottish and UK governments have terrorised the British public for three months now in the matter of this virus, using it to suppress democratic freedoms in an unprecedented manner and placing the economy in a serious downward spiral. It is a surreal turn of events that is Constitutionally radical and evidentially unjustifiable.

Furthermore, both governments have imposed the most disgraceful restrictions on religious worship while allowing massive anarchist gatherings and riots to take place in the public square to the great detriment of the established order. This tactic of simultaneous oppression of religion and toleration of public anarchy is classic Marxism.

Given that the same cultural Marxist subversion is being mirrored in the Democrat-led States of America right now, always with the approval of the left wing media, I think it not unreasonable to suspect that the free world is undergoing an orchestrated geopolitical assault on democracy with a view to replacing it with the “New Normal” of Socialist Totalitarianism.

Whatever the end game, official statistics and declarations conclusively prove that this Police State phenomenon has nothing whatever to do with a genuine health threat. Rather, it is our Western democratic culture that is under threat and the informed public are catching on.

Given the unprecedented nature of this bold assault on British freedom it is now evident that the UK desperately needs a new system of politics, one in which patriotic men and women recognise anew that they are elected to serving office and not to self-serving ruling power.

Until that happy day dawns, let me assure you that I will never abide by mandatory face masks on public transport, the 2m distancing rule or any other unscientific imposition on my freedom. Neither will I submit to surveillance methods such as track and trace or abusive legislation to force mandatory vaccination. This kind of government overreach belongs in Communist China and north Korea, not in free democratic Britain!

Comment:

Let’s all write to Nicola Sturgeon to tell her we are entirely fed up with this unnecessary lockdown; we want our freedom back.  She is so keen to act independently of England, so instead of following in Boris’s footsteps, implementing the same easing of restrictions as he introduces in England a day or so after him, why not own up to the fact that there is no real threat at all to the population of Scotland and we ought to (not “may”) return to normal, ordinary, everyday life, with immediate effect.

That’s more or less what I’m planning to write – not going to waste an afternoon or a bunch of words on her.  Just a few lines to get the message across that not the entire Scottish population is as gullible as it may seem right now.  People are beginning to express dissent from the “new normal” so let Catholic Truth readers, lurkers and bloggers get there first!   You know it makes sense!

Write to:

Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP
First Minister of Scotland
St Andrew’s House,
Regent Road,
Edinburgh,
EH1 3DG.

Nicola Sturgeon wiping away a tear  on reading letters exposing virus propaganda, demanding our freedom back – we’d sooner have the Scottish Government give us back our civil liberties than independence from England!

Marxism Failed – that’s the good news…

Comment:

Why, given that it always creates totalitarian states, does Marxism continue to draw the young – because it does attract the young.

That, to continue from the headline, is the bad news…

I know of students who are committed to studying Marx and who identify themselves as Socialists.  What’s the draw?

Our Lady appeared at Fatima precisely to warn against the spread of Communism, yet we have bishops (and now a Pope) who are implicitly, if not explicitly singing from the same Marxist hymn sheet – er… to coin a phrase.   Why?

What can we say  – in a few short words, a soundbite, almost –  to draw them closer to a realization that it is Christ – not Marx – who is the answer to all the problems and mysteries of life…

Racism in USA – A “False Narrative”? Are Black Protesters “Playing Pretend”?

Comment:

I’ve copied one of the comments from below the video on YouTube because this commentator  says what needs to be said better than I can…

Wow! That’s not a rant, that is a stunning, articulate heartfelt speech which hopefully should nudge people back into reality. This world needs people like Candace now more than ever. Would love to one day see her as the President of the United States!
Ends.

Now, I don’t know enough about Candace Owens to know whether she would make a great President of the USA or not, but judging by this video (and a couple of her interviews, which I’ve enjoyed), she seems to be possessed of good judgment, not to mention sound common sense.

I’ve been watching those protesters in horror (both in the USA and here in the UK) and wondering just how many Catholics are among them, causing destruction to buildings and monuments, and even physical pain to others  in the name of “justice for the black community”…  What Candace said makes a lot of sense to me – what about you?

19/6: Happy Feast of the Sacred Heart!

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus…

n 1673, a French Visitandine (Visitation) nun named Margaret Mary Alacoque had a private revelation of Jesus, in which he asked the Church to honour his Most Sacred Heart.

In particular, Jesus gave to St. Margaret Mary 12 specific promises made to all who venerated and promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart.

Jesus said to St. Margaret Mary, “Behold the Heart which has so loved men that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming Itself, in order to testify Its love … I promise you that My Heart shall expand Itself to shed in abundance the influence of Its Divine Love upon those who shall thus honour It, and cause It to be honoured.”

The entire purpose of this devotion is to draw a person closer to the heart of Christ. If a person spreads devotion to the Sacred Heart, it is natural for him or her to be closer to God. The moment that this devotion is observed in a superstitious manner, neglecting the need to live a virtuous life, all bets are off and Jesus’ promises are null and void.

Jesus wants us to rest on his heart, like St. John, and the Sacred Heart devotion is an opportunity for us to encounter him more than just on Sundays and to deepen our love of him.

The 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart Devotion

I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
I will establish peace in their homes.
I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
Sinners will find in my heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
I will bless every place in which an image of my heart is exposed and honoured.
I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart.
I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.  Source

Comment:

In the past, we’ve discussed the 12 Promises of Our Lord to all who venerate and promote devotion to His Sacred Heart.  We’ve compared “favourites”, so to speak.  I’ve probably quoted a very close friend of mine who told me that it was only when she read the above promises and undertook to spread this devotion in her own home, and wherever possible outside, that she experienced a change in herself which she attributes to Christ’s promise that lukewarm souls shall become fervent.  She certainly became fervent:  she changed from being a lukewarm Sunday Catholic to being devoted to the Faith and fervent in many areas of Catholic life – not least in her active support for Catholic Truth.

So, share your thoughts about the 12 Promises, as well as posting your favourite prayers and hymns – all to honour the Sacred Heart of Jesus on this lovely Feast.   A very happy Feast day to one and all !

If I hear “stay safe” one more time, I’ll…

Comment:

I know that people mean well, but every time someone in a supermarket, or anywhere else, tells me to “stay safe” I find myself “patience challenged”.

I’ve used a number of mildly sarcastic responses to this nonsense, to the effect of wondering aloud why anyone would think I’m not safe… But, generally speaking, my witticisms tend to pass over the heads of the friendly check-out assistants and security staff.

Thus, I thoroughly enjoyed the Prager-U Fireside Chat in the video above.  I think it’s brilliant, And I look forward to hearing your thoughts about it.  Is telling us all to “stay safe” just another piece of linguistic programming, to keep the “danger” of “the virus” at the front of our minds?  It’s unnerving to see the looks I get from my well-meaning friendly supermarket staff, because when they tell me to “stay safe” it’s pretty clear that they really don’t expect to see me again 😀

And now we find – via the video clip below – that the  hierarchy of the Catholic Church in Scotland has added its own piece of linguistic programming.  In addition to “stay safe”, the Bishops want us to “pray safe”.  Crackers.

Share your thoughts on the topic – which of the men in the two videos talks sense, in your view.  Clue:  it’s not the Catholic deacon!

Layman writes to the Scottish Bishops…

June 7, 2020

Dear Bishops of Scotland,

I am writing to respectfully upbraid all of you in the Scottish hierarchy for abandoning Christ’s flock during this Covid-19 pandemic, which, as statistical evidence is now increasingly proving, was never a serious health threat to the majority of Scotland’s 5.5 million population, or indeed any other population.

Nowhere in the annals of Church history, even through periods of war and plague, is there another example of Catholic prelates ordering a national suspension of public Masses and devotions under any pretext.

On the contrary, in times of crisis the Catholic hierarchy has always led the way with faith in God’s providence, a supernatural faith that compelled popes and bishops to order a redoubling of the public prayers of the Church, especially the Mass, as per the wisdom of the saints.

Your response to Covid-19, however, is a departure from that faith and wisdom of Tradition, hardly surprising given decades of spiritual decay in the Church since Vatican II, but shocking nonetheless.

By allying with a secularist State authority, even pre-empting its unlawful “Lockdown” suppression of civil liberties by closing chapels before the evil was mandated by legislative order, you have effectively consented to the relegation of the Catholic religion to “non-essential” status in society, which, by default, exalts human endeavour above divine assistance and the health of the body above that of the immortal soul.

In other words, your collusion with the State in its totalitarian power grab represents a capitulation to the enemies of the Church and of society (Communists, Freemasons, etc.), who have long sought to supplant the supernatural order established by Christ our King with the secular order of “the prince of this world”, a new order with a new Saviour of mankind whose doctrine is human reason (science) and naturalism (materialism).

To appraise you of your utter foolishness in furthering this subversion by validating government and media propaganda in respect to Covid-19, which is geopolitically-motivated, I offer the following indisputable evidence.

At the time of writing, official Scottish government statistics place the death toll of those who tested positive for the virus at around 2,400. That number equates to a tiny 0.04% of the Scottish population and would doubtless be lower yet had post mortem examinations not been suspended for the duration along with the standard requirement for a second doctor to verify cause of death.

Of this relatively small number of deaths at least 50% have been elderly people locked down in care homes while the remaining 50% have generally succumbed as a result of compromised immune systems. In fine, these deaths could occur even with seasonal flu, which, you may have noticed, has gone on vacation this year!

Exactly the same can be said of the UK as a whole in which 39,000 deaths from a population of 66 million equates to a comparatively minuscule percentage, a fact exemplified by 40% of acute NHS hospital beds currently lying empty for the first time in decades.

Evidently these official statistics are not remotely suggestive of the plague upon us and certainly do not justify the draconian measures taken by the government and supported by you prelates of the Church.

If further evidence were required to demonstrate that the present imposition of the Beijing method to treat the Chinese virus is geopolitical in nature, i.e., a new Communist totalitarianism which is perfectly consistent with the Message and Third Secret of Fatima, then the following information should prove conclusive for those who have eyes to see.

On May 11, Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England, while addressing the press during the daily Downing Street Covid-19 briefing, declared quite clearly that “…for most people Covid-19 is harmless…” This statement ties in perfectly with the official statistics I have quoted.

As for “Lockdown”, which a recent Fox News report suggested is in accord with the Chinese government’s strategy to undermine Western economies, the instigator is one Professor Neil Ferguson of University College London whose mathematical “model” on Covid-19, predicting apocalyptic death rates of 520,000 in the UK and 2.2 million in the U.S., is said to have turned both governments from their initial “herd immunity” policy to legislative tyranny and economic suicide.

You will doubtless be aware that Professor Ferguson recently resigned as advisor to the UK government when it was revealed that he had twice broken the lockdown rules he insisted the rest of us must strictly follow.

What you may not be so familiar with, however, is Professor Ferguson’s 20-year history of presenting irresponsible, even reckless, virus models to government.

In 2001, for example, his predictions on Foot and Mouth disease resulted in the slaughter of 6.5 million healthy animals, a mass culling that cost the country £10 billion and devastated rural Britain.

In 2002 he predicted 150,000 dead in the UK from BSE, yet only 177 died. Again, in 2005, he predicted 200 million dead globally from Bird Flu and only 18,500 died. And again, in 2009, he predicted 65,000 dead in the UK from Swine Flu and only 275 died.

Is it any wonder, then, that the man has no faith in his own predictions, breaking lockdown twice to meet with his left wing activist mistress, a married mother of two? The same question can be asked of Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer and of senior UK government adviser Dominic Cummings, both of whom broke lockdown rules because they know them to be useless in controlling a viral outbreak that now appears to have started earlier and spread wider than first believed, a revelation that confirms the relative harmlessness of this virus for the majority of the population.

Speaking of lost faith, I return to where I began, to a comparison of your response to this virus with the historical response of the Church’s hierarchy in times of real plague. what is absolutely clear from such a comparison is that the supernatural virtue of faith was far stronger then than now, inspiring Popes and prelates to place their trust in divine providence rather than in secular politicians and science.

Those were the days when Christ Crucified was boldly preached to fallen humanity, when the evils of the world, the devil and the flesh were zealously exposed and opposed; whether religious heresies, public immoralities or abuse of State power to the detriment of Christian society.

Since the fateful Vatican II with its “new humanism”, to quote Pope Paul VI, this faith has gradually given place to the principles of the French Revolution, a false liberalism that accommodates rather than accuses “the Prince of this world”, a tragedy that Paul VI recognised and lamented as “the smoke of Satan in the Church”.

Hence today there are no heresies to be fought, no immoralities to be condemned, no false religions to be challenged, no ancient rite of the Mass at high altar to impede ecumenism, no kneeling to receive Holy Communion on the tongue to strengthen belief in, and reverence for, the Blessed Sacrament, no mention of the infallible dogma Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus or of the doctrines on Hell and purgatory, etc., not a single element of Traditional teaching and practice left undiluted or silenced.

Everything from the post-conciliar re-ordering of churches and the Mass to the new Socialist doctrines on climate change, migration, social injustice, religious pluralism and a subjective moral embracing of those living on the “peripheries”, that is, the divorced and remarried, active homosexuals, unmarried couples and others who demand repentance-free “inclusion”, is indicative of a 5-decade shift in the Church from God-centred worship to man-centred worship.

And now complete subordination of the Church as a “non essential” entity within the State, like a social works institution to be closed down on a whim and without a whimper of objection. Well did a certain venerable prelate observe of this tragedy in our time: “The martyrs sacrificed their lives for the faith, now they sacrifice the faith.

And what are the bitter fruits of this Conciliar “reform”, this “new humanism”? They are precisely what one would expect from the “Smoke of Satan” having obscured the teaching of the Church: vocations have dried up, seminaries, religious houses and chapels have closed in their thousands (including all 5 seminaries in Scotland), proselytising, especially through the missions, is outlawed, millions have apostatised from the faith, Catholic politicians publicly offend against the Church’s moral teaching with impunity while governments likewise boldly legislate against the Commandments of God and the Christian family, etc.

If this is the “progressive” “New Pentecost” of Vatican II, then we can assuredly declare that humanity has progressed all the way back to its pagan past when brutal State atheism ruled and religion was a worthless subordinate trinket available in multiple choices.

The sickness you prelates should be concerned about is this spiritual sickness in the Church caused by Modernist “poison having been injected into her very veins”, to quote St. Pius X, the death toll from which is numbered in immortal souls, each one more precious to God than the whole of Creation.

I make no apology for the length of this letter as it was necessary to counter well-orchestrated propaganda in relation to Covid-19 while laying out in some kind of chronological order how the Church has come to appear like an accomplice in the present falsehood.

Though forthright, I have written to you as a subordinate to his superiors, in charity and in hope after the example of St. Paul who publicly “resisted” a wayward St. Peter “to his face”.

I urge you to please reflect on your actions thus far with a view to a radical change in direction from apparent spiritual indifference to a bold re-establishing of the Church’s supernatural faith and divine authority, bearing in mind that the state of the world at any given time is a reflection of the health or otherwise of the Church, which is the world’s moral compass.

There is no question in my mind that when Pope John XXIII figuratively opened the windows of the Church with a Council that was supposed to be merely pastoral in nature, “to let in some fresh air”, a doctrinal/liturgical hurricane entered instead and wrecked the House of God.

What has since been presented as the faith of the saints and martyrs is a shadow of what once was, the mustard seed instead of the great tree. Indeed, such has been the timidity and human respect in the post-conciliar hierarchy, so silent before the world and its falsehoods, as to represent less a “New Pentecost” than a return of the Apostles to the fear of the Cenacle prior the first and true Pentecost.

Well, it’s time to open your eyes, dear bishops, and see the devastation around you. The Church is in crisis and the world is rapidly heading to Hell in a handcart, deprived, as it has been for decades, of any meaningful Catholic voice to slow the decline. What is urgently required now is a fearless restoration of all things in Christ and an end to the hand washing abdication of duty exemplified by Pilate. Salvation is not by Socialist Catholicism but by Supernatural Catholicism.

May the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady obtain for you the grace to see the present spiritual chastisement, this universal revolt against God in our time which lies at the heart of the Third Secret of Fatima, as well as the resolution to act swiftly and definitively to end it.

With this hope and prayer, I enclose with my correspondence a copy of the June 7 letter of Archbishop Vigano to President Trump because it is intrinsically linked to everything I have stated regarding Vatican II “reform” and the apocalyptic crisis it has created in both the Church and the world in our time.

You will see in his letter that Archbishop Vigano speaks clearly of taking sides today, more than at any other time, either as children of the light resisting present evils or as children of darkness tolerating them.

In respect to the latter, two maxims came to mind. One was: “Evil abounds because good men do nothing”. The other was “Only dead fish flow with the current”. I recommend you reflect on them as I often do when thinking of my judgment and eternal destiny.

Respectfully yours in the most Holy Trinity
Martin Blackshaw

Comment:

At the time of this writing, Martin has received only two replies; Bishop McGee (Argyll and the Isles)  and Bishop  Robson (Dunkeld) have responded.  Thus, we feel the letter ought to be placed in the public forum.

It’s an excellent letter and should have resulted in grateful replies to the author, with promises to think deeply about the issues raised. Given the nature of the crisis through which Catholics are living today, however, we know that this is something of a fond hope.

All the more reason, then, that we all redouble our prayers for the graces necessary for the Pope to obey Our Lady’s Fatima request for the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart, the urgency of which various bishops elsewhere are now acknowledging.

Share your thoughts about Martin’s superb letter. His zeal is self-evident, writing to priests and bishops, always courteously, in the pursuit of building the Faith – in fact, he’s probably  now written more letters than did St Paul !  Indeed, his letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the subject of the lockdown and changing nature of Government is published in the current edition of our newsletter, available to read on our website.  So, if he’s motivated you to write a few lines to your bishop, let us know – that’s what we need; more and more members of the faithful to prod the consciences of the clergy, priests and bishops. Most bishops, if not all, can be contacted by email via their websites these days.  Over to you!
