Feminism: Irrational & Un-Christian?

With monotonous regularity, the print and broadcasting news outlets across the UK are leading with allegations of sexual harassment of women.  Today’s news broadcasts and newspapers are no exception, devoting air-time and front pages to publishing this latest scandal

Seems there’s hardly a decent male anywhere to be found. The presumption now is, clearly, “guilty until proven innocent” – that’s becoming more and more clear.  For a touch of balance, check out the entirely false allegation made against Tucker Carlson, popular American broadcaster, whose entire life and career was almost destroyed by a woman he’d never even met.

Comment:

Has the feminist movement gone too far?  Are radical feminists, in fact, completely irrational women,  driven by a hatred of men and masculinity?  Why are there apparently no women in the media industry speaking out against radical feminism?  Female news anchors interviewing (the very few) women who signal some reservations about the current frenzy, react quickly and with annoyance, as if they want the allegations to be true.  What’s going on – should men be presumed guilty until proven innocent?  If so, does that apply across the board to all crimes, or merely to allegations of a sexual nature?

  1. I am so sick and tired of these sexual allegations. It’s crazy. Even that all-male dinner – what did they expect? Men do often behave in a vulgar fashion when they gather in groups, not to excuse it, but to act all shock-horrified is ridiculous.

I wonder how many ordinary women identify as feminists. I definitely don’t. I think it’s an evil movement which has made men and women enemies. I’ve noticed a difference in men very recently. At one time, getting into a lift with a male, for example, there would be a bit of a conversation, even banter. Now there’s total silence. I’m sure they’re all terrified of being falsely accused.

Poor Tucker Carlson – that was horrendous. His story was in the Daily Mail online recently – he paid, I think it was $14,000 in lawyer’s fees and he did not know the woman, never met her and was actually in a different city and on television at the time of the alleged attack. It’s really got out of hand now.

So, yes, the feminist movement has gone too far, and I, personally, wish they would shut up and go home. I also feel strongly that no Christian woman can be a feminist. We’re supposed to love our enemies and if men are really our enemies, we should love them and not hate them, which is what happens if you follow the feminist creed.

Sorry to go on a bit here but I really detest the whole feminist machine.

    • Michaela,

“I wonder how many ordinary women identify as feminists.”

I’ve never met a woman who identifies as a feminist. When the subject arises, I hear only negative stuff about the feminist movement. Only for them demanding equal this and that, we wouldn’t be in the position where it’s impossible for a married couple to afford to buy their own home, unless the wife is working as well.

I think this whole feminist movement is from the devil. It’s destructive, turning women against men and I don’t think the extent of family breakdown in western societies is any coincidence. It’s directly related to the drive for women to be independent of men, for them to have so-called sexual freedom (used to be called something else!) and it’s ended up with whole communities of children living in fatherless homes.

If their aim was to make men terrified of women, then I think they’ve succeeded, but at what a cost.

      • As a Man who would want to go out with any of these P.Hat Women. The only place that they all fit in is at the BBC where to be Honest it’s getting harder by the Day to spot a Man from a Woman. That’s of course while it’s still legal in this Country of ours to call them men or women. Most if not all of these so called Women are either Marxist or Atheists.

        • FOOF,

Now, now, we can tell men from women at the BBC. It’s just not so easy to identify the real (independent thinking) women from the self-proclaimed feminists at the BBC or anywhere else, for that matter! If there are any, that is – don’t seem to be any who are not cast in the mould of the “progressive, liberal, secular” modern gal about town types. Still, we live in hope…

        • FOOF

It’s not all that difficult to spot the “female person” from the “male person” at the BBC. The females are the ones with the beards.

    • Michaela,

That is just scary, the fact that there are women out there who think nothing of destroying an innocent man’s life. That woman in the Tucker interview on video needs locking up and the key thrown away.

  2. I couldn’t agree more. These women should make it clear they’re only speaking for themselves, they’re definitely not speaking for most women.

It’s irritating to watch the conversations on the news, with everyone tut tutting and agreeing that it’s all the fault of these predatory men. They’ve obviously never watched a predatory female at work!

The female in the Tucker Carlson video has some nerve, defending the destruction of the lives of innocent men. It’s really gone way too far, thanks to the #Me too bunch.

No way can a woman be a Christian and one of these radical feminists. One is love-filled and the other is hate-filled. You can’t be in both, IMHO.

  3. I agree too. It seems as if women have lost all sense of humour and common sense. I do not for a moment condone the actions of real sexual predators but it has now come to the situation where any normal banter or mild flirting is taboo. It seems to me that the most strident “feminists” are the most unfeminine of women. Surely men can have their own clubs, dining societies etc where a little ribaldry is acceptable. It is part of some plan to demasculinise men.
Equal opportunity, pay etc is one thing but I think the pendulum has swung too far. For example, in medicine just over half of medical students are women. The majority of female doctors become part time GPs and as a result there are not enough orthopaedic, neurosurgians or cardiac surgeons, role usually taken by men because of the long training required. Yet any suggestion of a change in the training ratio of men to women is greeted with outrage.
And of course we see strident feminism at work in our parishes with the “wanna have it all” types attempting a mini take over of parish offices. I’m with Shakespeare who said of a lady ” her voice was ever gentle, soft and low, an admirable trait in a woman”.

    • Elizabeth,

That’s typical of the nonsense pursued by the feminists. Rather than ensuring we have sufficient doctors in every speciality, they want the training organised to favour equal numbers of women, even if it means being short of neurosurgeons or cardiac surgeons. The whole thing is madness.

    • Elizabeth,

“It seems as if women have lost all sense of humour and common sense.”

Spot on. That’s it in a nutshell. Not all that long ago, comments from men (or anyone) which are now considered grossly offensive, would have been laughed off or ignored with a shake of the head. These over-sensitive women are making a profession out of being hurt, wounded, offended, you name it. Crackers.

  4. Interesting timing, Editor, I just came across this article this morning: https://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/america-needs-ladies/ (Caveat: I know nothing about this website. But here’s a teaser from the article: “The sexual revolution brought us a second, third, and fourth wave of feminism that quickly devolved from the lofty goals of those who fought for equal rights to the gutter where women act just like men.”)

So first, let me point out that “fighting for equal rights” for women is not a lofty goal (except to useful idiots). “Feminism,” in fact, is and has always been the very opposite of femininity, and as it turns out, it was merely the first step in the slippery slope of gender confusion, i.e. the destruction of the family. Proof: https://books.google.com/books/about/Red_Feminism.html?id=2S-a6fBuNsEC

    Then, to answer Editor’s questions:

    1. Has the feminist movement gone too far? A: This assumes it was good to begin with. See book linked above.
    2. Are radical feminists completely irrational, etc.? A: https://www.blazingcatfur.ca/2018/01/24/news-of-cbc-shaming-large-families-reaches-the-states/
    3. Why so few media women speaking out against this? A: They want to keep their jobs. In other words, they are kissing up to the very men they hate.
    4. Should men be presumed guilty until proven innocent? A: First the revolutionaries should figure out what they think men are guilty of, instead of this orchestrated foaming at the mouth. Better known as mob rule…

    • RCA Victor,

I think this piece from your first link really sums up the situation we are in today, beautifully:

“Yes, a man should be a gentleman no matter what. But the fact is the world has changed in an alarming way that directly impacts how the sexes interact with each other. The result is an unraveling of civility. The cause of this must be placed directly at the feet of women themselves.”

That’s exactly right. Women have become so course, too many of us, and sometimes speak and act much worse than the crudest male. It’s really very sad.

I’m surprised you are asking what they think men are guilty of – I take it they are considered guilty of disrespecting women at some level. Touching a knee seems to be a crime crying to heaven for vengeance (whereas abortion is just fine!) and even saying or tweeting something that might be seen as disrespecting women, can be a sack able offence. It’s really totally mad.

To be honest, I feel embarrassed to be a woman these days. In company, I’ve seen me apologising for feminists, LOL! The men then breathe a bit more easily!

      • Lily,

I probably didn’t say that very well, but my point was that what these warped women – feminazis – really think is that men are guilty simply of being men. And why not? Since babies in the womb have no value to these twisted people, men shouldn’t either.

    • RCA Victor,

You make some very good points – the very idea that everyone can be “equal” (except before God, our Creator) is false. “Feminists” then, are chasing a shadow, and will never be satisfied because it is simply impossible to reach that particular goal.

I’ll check out your links over the weekend – I keep being beaten by the clock but say nothing or someone will launch an Anti-Violent Clocks movement 😀 Seriously – the times in which we live are just about that crazy!

  5. These women are loopy. I am thoroughly fed up listening to their whingeing. The MP Jess Philips was wearing a big chain round her neck yesterday with the word “Respect” across it – barmy. She seems to be obsessed with the women vs men battle. I wonder if any of these females have sons who will be falsely accused or end up in nerves when they are in the company of a female.

Women who are not “feminists” are berated as if guilty of treason. I’m with the others on this blog (so far!) because I have no time at all for the whole feminist garbage. As for being Christians – not a chance.

    • That Jess Philips doesn’t need to worry about all the Garbage she was talking about happening to her . I can assure her of that .

    • MM

“Loopy” is the word. And “inconsistent” is another word. Turns out the women employed to work at the all-male dinner at the President’s Club were told to wear short, tight black skirts. And they complied.

      Whatever happened to “girl power”?

      • That struck me when I read it reported – I haven’t heard it on the TV news, so maybe a cover up there. Why did not even one of them refuse point black to be told how to dress, in that way. That’s different from a uniform – being told to wear short, black skirts should sound an alarm bell in any normal woman’s head. They can hardly act all surprised when some of the men act like men around women who dress in that way.

  6. The mainstream media, horrified because a group of businessmen decided to have a male only dinner in order to raise money for charities was laughable in its political correctness. If a number of men behaved inappropriately then one can understand a certain protestation as it is assault, but in honesty, it was the fact that this was a male only dinner that upset the feminist mindset. And they demanded heads must roll.
“G K Chesterton defines a feminist as, one who dislikes the chief feminine characteristics”. This sentence begins the forward by Alice von Hildebrand for the compilation of essays, the Enemy Within; written in 1992 and well worth reading. Chesterton saw feminism as the destruction of womanhood. One can argue that feminism is another error of Russia that Our Blessed Lady warned the world about in Fatima. As a political action, its roots are found in the suffragette movement of the 19th calling for equality for women. Today, the purpose of feminism is clearly to wage war on patriarchy and all men. It is a rebellion against God. From a Catholic perspective, feminist theology is an appalling heresy which seeks to overthrow the patriarchal traditions of the Church; usually accompanied by a cry for women priests, contraception and abortion and the acceptance of homosexuality. Feminism, permeates throughout the entire left wing movement. It contaminates modern institutions and philosophical thought. Comprehensively, they influence the media and control the narrative. Their support for homosexuality is a support for the effeminate male while they ape male characteristics. Feminism is both destructive and self defeating.
If feminist truly wanted to be real women then they have no better role model than Our Blessed Lady.

    • GildaWiseMan,

““G K Chesterton defines a feminist as, one who dislikes the chief feminine characteristics”.

Well, that’s something, isn’t it! GK is one of my all time favourites, and, yet again, he has hit a nail on the head. That just about sums up these masculine feminists. I always think they are masculine, so GK’s definition is very accurate, IMHO.

Do I think it’s possible to be a feminist and a Christian? Only if it’s possible for a piece of fruit to be an apple and an orange at the same time!

  7. Fr. Stephen DeLallo wrote about this phenomenon as just one aspect of the Marxist cultural revolution presently under way. The ultimate goal is obscurance of gender identity and the destruction of the Christian family. In other words, radical feminism, like the aggressive homosexual agenda and sex ed for kids, is one more aspect of the Satanic plot to wipe Christian morality and family life off the face of the earth.

    • Athanasius,

According to [one] feminist site, Fr DeLallo is correct

“…what are radical feminists? I recently saw a post on this in this sub saying that it’s essentially the belief that patriarchy is the root cause of gender problems and that patriarchy must be abolished to achieve equality. With this definition I would be counted as one. This gets into my second part of the question.

      What are the goals?

In radical feminists theory, I have heard it repeated multitudes of times that true equality will only be met by having one of these things happen:

      •Societal Upheaval
      •Complete Societal Reordering
      •Feminist (literal) Revolution
•Different iterations of the above mentioned three.

and it has me hesitant because I think that on one hand, depending on how you define these goals, I would still fit the label. However if you define the goals another way, I do not. On top of that, I am aware that this could be a strawman set up.
[link does not work, but if you Google AskFeminists you might find it.]

Every immorality is listed there, even “trans”. The abolition of “patriarchy” through societal upheaval, no problem.

I find myself thinking all the time, when watching the news, of Our Lady’s warning to Sr Lucia of Fatima that the Church and world would become diabolically disoriented. Never was that prophecy so clear as it is today.

      • Josephine

I think the Marxist cultural revolution, presently in the guise of Feminism, ultimately aims at a genderless society in which no distinction will be made between male and female or any of the shades of demonic grey in between. They are now promoting something called “binary” where a person is permitted to exist without identifying as any particular gender.

If only people understood the real Satanic mind behind this equality stuff, they would see that it’s really a ruse to destroy not only the supernatural order but the natural one as well. Not even the pagans of old proposed the clearly ludicrous ideas we’re seeing in this age. It’s the first time in human history that mankind has universally rebelled against its Creator and even against the natural order. Terrifying stuff!

  8. I think an awful lot of women are sick to the back teeth of this feminist nonsense. Now, mothers who want to stay at home and raise their children, cook healthy meals and just BE there for their family, are regarded as oddballs. I was lucky to have an “oddball” for a mother and I know for a fact that I would have just hated to have one of these “watch I don’t break a nail” types for a mother, pushing bits of paper around an office to make them feel “fulfilled”. No thanks, not my type of mother.

  9. Laura

“I would have just hated to have one of these “watch I don’t break a nail” types for a mother, pushing bits of paper around an office.”

    Me, too! LOL!

    • RCA Victor,

That’s a great article from Renew America. I’ll need to re-read it over and over as it is jam-packed with information. It’s a really helpful article, thanks a ton for posting it here.

  10. I listened carefully to the young woman on TV and shock horror I had some sympathy. This kind of man hatred comes with experience in early life of many young women as a result of the sexual revolution, the provision of contraceptives and indulging in sex without responsibility. Women wee always the losers. It starts today in school when at 14 or 15 a girl finds herself approached by another schoolboy, that had had sex lessons and they believe in safe sex. Little does the girl know that he has chosen her because he wants to be her first lover. Boys even fight over it. the girl s head is still full of the notion of romance because it is part of her psyche, not so boys. The girl is picked up and dumped. She leaves school and meets other boys and the same thing happened. There might be some that last a longer time but she is hurt time and time again. She then has a hardened attitude towards men and becomes just as self centred. Many young girls actually become Lesbian because of their experiences. When they become pregnant they know they cannot trust the guy in their lives and have an abortion. Or the guy makes it clear he does not want the baby and forces her into abortion. It is a hard, and sick and sorry scenario but that is the kind of world we live in. There is no love, there is only sex. But there is the point that living this kind of life is no preparation for marriage. Many just live together for a short time and break up. Many marry but cannot be faithful and divorce leaving children with broken hearts and broken lives. Where stands the Church? Well in Catholic Schools they help this sick system along by giving out contraceptives, they tell young people adultery is OK, God understands and they should just ‘Give to the poor” And priests will tell you “We cannot get young people to come to Church because of the society we live in” Just join up the dots.

  11. Hear, hear John.

The wisdom and beauty of Catholic teaching on contraception proves itself again and again.

To his credit, in Humanae Vitae Pope Paul VI merely reaffirmed the Church’s timeless, infallible and unwavering stance with regard to ‘sex made deliberately infecund by the couple’. As we know, this was during the so-called ‘sexual revolution’ of the 1960s and he got such grief over it from inside and outside the Vatican that, as I understand things, he became a broken man and never issued another encyclical.

When the pill came along, at first the authorities took the moral high ground, claiming it would ‘only be available to married women’. But it didn’t take long for the goalposts to get moved, school nurses were soon prescribing it to teenage girls without their parents’ knowledge. As John pointed out, this is something we hear little or nothing about from the pulpit, all we get is… ‘social justice, give to the poor, have compassion towards LGBTs, prisoners, drug-addicts, the homeless, economic migrants and others on the margins of society’… (after all, it’s only the intolerant and judgmental who need to gerragrip, anyone else ‘just can’t help it’).

A severe case of mistaken priorities, methinks. So-called ‘contraception’ is very much to blame for the chaos and disorder we find ourselves immersed in at the present day.

    • Pat McKay and John Kearney,

I agree with Wendy Walker – wonderful comments from both of you. Well said.

I once heard someone say, though, that it was the legalising of divorce more than contraception that led to the moral decay we are living with today. An interesting possibility, although there’s no denying the evil results of the contraceptive mentality as Pope John Paul II used to call it.
