Catholic Awareness Week:You Kidding?

A GROWING number of Scots are converting to Islam – with the majority young women.

Glasgow Central Mosque alone is now seeing more than 200 Scots a year ‘revert’. Due to the rising number of Scots finding Islam, mosques across the country are also setting up support groups for new ‘reverts’. Many are fearful of abuse and intimidation.

Reversion is the preferred term within Islam for those who ‘convert’ – as Muslims believe everyone is born believing in Allah.  Click here to read more about Islam Awareness Week

Comment:

Our Lord suffered and died on the cross, so that we could be saved and come to knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4)

Yet,  today we have Catholic schools not only refusing to teach the truths of the Catholic Faith, but actively promoting falsehood – the falsehood that there is another religion that is equally pleasing to God.

At the same time as Catholic priests, bishops and so-called educators are dumbing down the Faith to make it more palatable to the young (and, no doubt, salve their own bad consciences) they are pushing a religion which has “demanding” for its middle name.  For, the strict fasting laws and dress code are no barrier to the converts who are flooding into Islam. And little wonder, since they have been given a captive audience in at least one Catholic school brought to my attention,  to present their religious beliefs and practices in the most positive way.  When will the Scottish Catholic Education Service host a “Catholic Awareness Week” in schools across the country – non-denominational, Jewish, Muslim?  You kidding?

Where are the parents in all of this?  Where are the senior management?  Head-Teachers? Chaplains? Bishops?

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

  1. How young Women especially can convert to Muslimislam as I would prefer to call it is really a matter of Mathematics Ed . Let’s be honest HERE. It’s because of Muslim Sex Selective Abortions in Scotland . I know S.S.Abortions occurs outside the Moslem community but within their community it’s Epidemic . That means there’s not enough Females to go around and having seen some of our girls especially tempted to go with Rich Pakistani men it doesn’t surprise me .

    • FOOF, am I reading you right? Are you saying that Muslims go in for SS abortions? I thought Muslims disagreed with abortion. And, how can this happen anyway? There would need to be cooperation at a medical level and surely that wouldn’t / couldn’t be allowed?

      • Helen surely you jest is your post really SERIOUS or is it Sarcasm. If it’s serious and you watch the news or go online. Next time have a GOOD look at the so called Muslim Refugees entering Europe 80% of them at least are young men .

        • FOOF,

You are off topic. Please stick to the topic of whether or not there should be a Catholic Awareness Week in schools across Scotland. It is intensely irritating when people come on here to use this blog for their own Machiavellian ends.

DO you think there ought to be a Catholic Awareness Week in all schools across Scotland or not?

    • FOOF,

Responding to your first comment – which is entirely irrelevant to the topic. Any more like it will be deleted. If Helen had not asked a question about it, I’d have deleted your first comment. I have now replied to both of your comments to point out that you are not only off topic but you make a sweeping claim without any effort at providing a source, so now either get onto the topic of Catholic Awareness Week or don’t blog on this thread. Please and thank you. We’re not interested in the “ss abortion” claim so move on – again, please and thank you.

  2. “Catholic Awareness Week”?

Yeah, the day after Hell freezes over! No way would such a week be allowed in other schools. No wonder the headline finished “you kidding”! LOL!

It’s disgraceful that children are being exposed to non-Christian faiths in this way. The bishops have a cheek to claim Catholic schools are doing a good job. Yes, for Islam, but not for the Catholic Church.

  3. Soz editor for starting that topic 😦

I honestly think it’s too late for Catholic schools to have an awareness week. They are too far off the rails and the mind boggles a to what they would teach. I think they should be closed. I wouldn’t dream of sending my children to a so called catholic school. They’d all lose the Faith, I know they would.

  4. Given the spineless apostates who govern the Church in modern times, it is more likely that they would sponsor a “Catholic-Bashing Week” or a “Catholic Surrender Week” than anything remotely connected with “Catholic Awareness.”

But even in the unlikely event that they did promote a Catholic Awareness Week, what sort of awareness would that be? Certainly nothing we would recognize as Catholic. No, it would be the Pope Francis version, promoting Communion for public adulterers, religious indifference and atheism, homosexuality, environmental extremism, open borders, female deacons, married priests, and the full Marxist agenda of the United Nations.

Given that recipe for disaster, maybe we should promote a Catholic Awareness Week ourselves!

    • RCA Victor,

      Exactly. Got it in one.

However, the fact is that, even though all that you say is true, and the modernist version of Catholicism is no threat to any atheist, the very concept of making children in schools more informed about the Church would go down like the proverbial lead balloon.

I know that for a fact, since some years ago when I suggested inviting a Catholic Religious Sister who was about as Catholic as your mobile phone, to speak on a “spiritual” topic to some pupils in the non-denominational school in which I was employed at the time, the senior member of staff declined the offer. When I pointed out that she wasn’t a real live “orthodox” Catholic but that she would be able to speak on this topic OK (something bland, can’t recall exactly) he replied, as he walked away from me “but she’s still a Catholic”.

Now, what we’re witnessing in all schools is “bring them in, they’re Muslims!”

      Diabolical disorientation, writ large.

      • Editor,

That experience would certainly have left a bitter taste in my mouth. But who knows, maybe one of Pope Francis’ next agenda items is to change the very name of the Church herself! You know, something like “Universal Church” or maybe “Omega Point Church.” Or even “god of Surprises Church,” or “Smell of the Sheep Church.”

But there’d be some small print at the bottom of the new signs:

        “Catholics not welcome.”

  5. I bet that one will go down well. I can just imagine all the head teachers at so-called Catholic schools addressing assembly in the morning, saying: “Now, just to let you know that this is Catholic awareness week, so if any of you know a Catholic just be aware that this is their week, whatever that means”!

  6. I am not aware of catholic Awareness Week, and I doubt that anyone else is either, given our Bishops. I’ll now go back to sleep.

    • Benedict,

It always helps to read the blog introduction….

There ISN’T a “Catholic Awareness Week” – there is (last week, in fact) an Islam Awareness Week across Scottish school (and probably the rest of the UK) and given the fact that converts are flooding into Islam, it seems quite shocking that children attending Catholic schools are exposed to this sort of proselytism. After all, who was it said: “proselytism is solemn nonsense”?

Oh yes, Papa Francis. I get it now. We can’t have Catholic schools promoting Catholicism – that is solemn nonsense – but they MAY, definitely, promote Islam, as that is NOT “solemn nonsense”.

      Have I got THAT right?

      • The only experience I have of Catholic schools was the story related to me by a Traditionalist friend who had her daughter in a local Catholic school in Bristol (St. Bernadette’s).

This child – fourteen years old at the time – came home one day with her Religious Education homework: a Marie Stopes clinic application form for an abortion.

What is Catholic about our schools? Virtually nothing at all, I would say.

  7. But Editor – it is Community. It is no use talking about the Christ of the Gospel and how he died for the forgiveness of sin for in our intellectual Church sin is just one of those things we do because we are human.

Those days when the Jesus of Scripture was trying to build a Kingdom based on the 10 Commandments where there would be no person using another for adultery, and people would be faithful in marriage, and of course there would be no divorce and re-marriage are gone.

People must be free to follow their own conscience in such matters. Practising homosexuals do no wrong, and abortion is up to the individual. Why, you must realise is that for the bishops and clergy God is a big softy, and OK we know he went along with Jesus in all that nonsense but way back then people were not so clever as they are today. It is community and Charity, you know sticking money in an envelope that really counts.

But do not worry about the Moslems. With all the wonderful principles young Catholics have learned in their Catholic Schools by people who live in the 21st century the Moslems will have another Allah to worship in not time just as we have a new Jesus.

  8. A GROWING number of Scots are converting to Islam – with the majority young women.

I would bet the main driver behind this is women being compelled to convert when marrying a muslim man. In Glasgow, it is by no means rare to encounter a white caucasian woman wearing a hijab.

People will also be attracted to Islam because of its self-confidence. Whereas the Catholic Church of today tends to hide its light under a bushel and, rather than shout about how it is the one true faith, it prefers to gush over false religions (including Islam, ironically) and praise them all to high-heaven.

Another point is that people, (perhaps women especially), coming to Islam from today’s booze-soaked, promiscuous culture will feel it is giving them dignity with its rigorous standards of avoiding alcohol and dressing modestly.

But the hapless mainstream Church doesn’t want to ‘impose’ ideals on anyone today, and instead only wants to “accompany” young people into the gutter. It gives them nothing, in other words.

  9. The cultural Marxist European project has been planning this for decades. It has always been the EU’s intention to allow as many Saracens into Europe as possible. The number of Muslims will rise exponentially in the decades to come. They will breed like rabbits, seduce our women, and before we know it, they will be the majority. Le Penne needs to win and we need a hardest of hard Brexits to defend ourselves from this Mohammedan invasion. Our Lady of Victories, pray for us!

  10. Someone really IS kidding if they think the Bishops and/or the Local Education Authorities would allow a Catholic Awareness Week. No way!
