Fatima: New Text Published…

SrLuciafacingright

In a recent blog post (found here), Antonio Socci, the author of The Fourth Secret of Fatima, notes the importance of a recently published official biography of Sr. Lucia from the Carmelites of Coimbra (the convent where the Portuguese nun lived and died), titledUm caminho sob o olhar de Maria(A Path Under the Gaze of Mary). This explosive new text contains several important writings of Sr. Lucia which were until now previously unpublished. Socci cites a portion of this text which appears to be hugely important in relation to my theory that the alleged “attachment” to the Third Secret is related to St John Paul II’s reputed address at Fulda, Germany in 1980. It concerns a vision which Sr. Lucia had which helped her to overcome her fear about whether or not she should write down the content of the Third Secret:

THE UNPUBLISHED PIECE Towards 16:00 hours on January 3rd, 1944, in the convent’s chapel, before the Tabernacle, Lucia asked Jesus to let her know His will: ‘I then feel that a friendly hand, affectionate and maternal, touches my shoulder.’ It is ‘the Mother of Heaven’ who says to her: ‘be at peace and write what they command you to, but not that which you were given to understand about its meaning,’ intending to allude to the meaning of the vision that the Virgin herself had revealed to her. Right after – says Sr. Lucia – ‘I felt my spirit flooded by a light-filled mystery which is God and in Him I saw and heard: the point of the flame-like lance which detaches, touches the axis of the earth and it [the earth] shakes: mountains, cities, towns and villages with their inhabitants are buried. The sea, rivers and clouds leave their bounds, they overflow, flood and drag with them into a whirlpool, houses and people in a number unable to be counted; it is the purification of the world from the sin it is immersed in. Hatred, ambition, cause detructive wars. Afterward I felt in the increased beating of my heart and in my spirit a quiet voice which said: ‘in time, one faith, one baptism, one Church, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic. Heaven in eternity!’ This word, ‘Heaven,’ filled my heart with peace and happiness, so much so that, almost without realizing it, I continued to repeat for some time: Heaven, Heaven!’ That is how she was given the strength to write the Third Secret.     Source

This alleged new text is being discussed across the internet, and since the above blog article, sent to me by the author, is the best report I’ve seen to date, I thought it might be worth posting here.  Your thoughts welcome.

  1. This new text is very interesting but I don’t think there is anything really new in it – although a bit more detail about the prophesied catastrophic events.

Father Gruner is convinced that a third world war is inevitable.

    • Margaret Mary,

True, this new text is interesting and containing more detail about prophesied catastrophic events. Strange, that only yesterday, about Father Gruner from the very link you provide today, about a third world war being inevitable.

It does make me wonder though, if there could be some kind of effects from a third world war, with weaponry that might have an effect on erupting volcanoes and a mega tsunami.

There is no getting away from it – Russia is the object of the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. And Russia will be the instrument of chastisement if that Consecration is not done.

Pray very hard for the Pope and every Bishop walking upon earth.

  2. I read somewhere that the new text is not helpful to the Vatican line so that makes me more sympathetic to it.

  3. Thanks to everyone who has commented so far.

I meant to say in the “comment” at the end of the blog article, that we would wait for Father Gruner’s endorsement before accepting this text as authentic. However, as MM says – and as an email correspondent said to me earlier today as well – this latest “new text” is not at all helpful to the Bertone/Vatican party line so it may well be authentic.

And Fr Gruner appears definitely to be of the opinion that we are all but on the brink of World War III.

So, needless to say I agree whole-heartedly with Theresa Rose that we must pray very hard for the Pope and Bishops. The Consecration of Russia, Our Lady said, will be done but it will be late: well, it surely can’t get much later than this.

Our Lady of Fatima, Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

  4. A third world war may indeed be on the cards but I don’t think this is the context of the Third Secret. There is something much worse than a world war and that is a world apostasy from God, the loss of souls for all eternity.

Brother Michael of the Trinity, in his wonderful 3-volume work on Fatima, pointed out that world wars, material chastisements if you like, were more or less the content of the SECOND part of the Secret of Fatima. The Third part was much, much worse.

Russia has already been the instrument of chastisement in the world in that all the nations that were once Christian, the US and in Europe in particular, are now aggressively atheistic. It is by this single observation that we know that Communism, emanating from Russia, has conquered the world and brought misery in its wake. It is also pretty certain that the so-called “spirit of Vatican II” is a Communist one. We can know this from the clear rebellion against established morals and customs that has followed the Council, and also by its anti-hierarchic, anti-dogma direction. Communism represents chaos and loss of faith. Who would argue that these are not precisely the bitter fruits of the 60s revolution we are still living with today?

It has been remarked that the central theme of the Third Secret is “apostasy in the Church, from the top down.” That fits well with what we have all witnessed since the Council. And when the Church ceases to be the world’s compass by her uncompromising teaching, evil flourishes at every level in civil society. That’s the real tragedy unfolding. A third world war is child’s play in comparison. I therefore think it is misleading to associate the Third Secret of Fatima with world wars. The third Secret chastisement is primarily a spiritual one.

    • Athanasius,

I do agree that the chastisement is primarily a spiritual one but that doesn’t preclude war. Our Lady spoke of whole nations being annihilated etc so the two are connected, as is the way God has always dealt with his rebellious peoples – see the Old Testament relationship between God and the Hebrews. He punishes them for their unfaithfulness to God by means of wars etc.

Fr Gruner definitely seems to be certain a major war is imminent and that’s the signs in the geo-political mess we are witnessing on our TV screens.

      • Josephine,

I already said that the Secret of Fatima doesn’t preclude world war, but that’s dealt with in the Second, not the Third part of the Secret of Fatima. Also, Brother Michael of the Trinity pointed out that Sister Lucy never wrote that “many nations will be annihilated.” Rather, she wrote “many nations will disappear.” These latter words are the one’s Our Lady spoke.

Now, you may argue that there’s little difference in meaning between the two phrases, but actually there could be a huge difference in interpretation. As far as Brother Michael was concerned, the latter words are consistent with nations invaded and suppressed at the height of Communist aggression in the 40s, 50, 60s & 70s. Many had their names changed by the Communists once they were absorbed into the USSR and so effectively disappeared as Christian nations. It’s a thought provoking alternative that is actually worse than war.

So yes, the threat of world war is definitely very real today amidst all these regional and national conflicts we’re hearing about. But it’s not the worst scenario in supernatural terms. I think that’s why Our Lord, speaking of the end times in Matthew 24, says: “There will be wars and rumours of wars, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.” But He also went on to say that we should not be troubled because “These things are but the beginning of travail.”

What worries me more, and certainly seems to be the main thrust of the Third Secret, are these closing words of Our Lord in Matthew: “And the charity of many will grow cold as they see wickedness abound everywhere.” Those words, for me, certainly tie in with the apostasy from God that seems to be the central theme of the Third Secret of Fatima.

        • Athanasius,

The Message of Fatima is one message, albeit divided into three parts.
I don’t think anyone (not me, certainly) would ever dispute that the spiritual chastisement and apostasy is the main problem but war is a punishment for sin and I think the message of Fatima, and Akita, definitely link material punishments and spiritual chastisement, which is what the apostasy in, in my understanding. I don’t see the apostasy as being separate from the war punishment. The two must be linked unless you think all that is going on in the geo-political sphere has nothing to do with God’s warnings at Fatima. That’s all I’m saying. Not that one is “more important” than the other, but that they are linked. I’ve never known anyone who has studied Fatima to think that the apostasy in the Church has nothing to with the worsening threat of war in the world.

Also, Fr Gruner is convinced that we are on the brink of a third world war and keeps asking for the Consecration of Russia to prevent that, because it was requested at Fatima. I’m not sure if I’m not being clear enough and maybe we are at cross purposes but the two things are intertwined IMHO – spiritual chastisement and the punishment of a possible world war III. It’s not one or the other, but both. Our Lady said many nations will disappear and that is as a punishment for the sin of apostasy. They’re linked, unless I’ve been misunderstanding the Fatima Message my whole life.

          • What about the scene described in the Third Secret, bows & arrows etc. “A bishop dressed in white” – soldiers, dead corpses, etc.

Is that merely symbolic? I don’t think any other part of the Fatima visions were symbolic. The children actually saw Hell, so I think they were seeing something very real here as well, to do with the punishment, as you say, for the sin of apostasy. I think it was Fr Gruner who said “bows and arrows” is the term used for unknown weapons.

            • Nicky,

There is a text accompanying that vision you describe that would make its meaning clear to all. Sadly, until they publish the text the vision will remain obscure.

          • Josephine,

We are not at odds in what we believe the Message of Fatima to reveal. My only concern is that in recent years more emphasis has been placed on a material chastisement, possibly to frighten people into listening, than on the primary spiritual chastisement. That worries me greatly because the loss of souls is by far a greater tragedy than a third world war.

  5. Great Blog Post, editor, and very interesting. I just wish I had the time to delve into these articles in more detail.

  6. Were we to have only the signs of the times to go on, and had Our Lady never appeared to give her warnings at Fatima, I would be convinced that Christianity, first in the Middle East. then in Europe and then in the rest of the world, was to be almost completely wiped out by the forces Islam, and that this would herald the end times.

I have always wondered why the Fatima warnings were only about Communism – ‘the errors of Russia, – whereas Islam was never mentioned by our Lady, and to my knowledge has never been mentioned by Fatima commentators.

    Any ideas, anyone?

  7. When it says the axis of the Earth is touched, I guess that means like the north pole. Which in a way corresponds to the pope – the papacy – when the shepherd is struck, the sheep are scattered. Just a thought…

And I’d have to agree with Athanasius that the spiritual chastisement is much much worse than the material. But maybe they will happen at exactly the same time. The pope will fall away…. the Earth and all souls on it will be punished… What a gruesome picture.

    • Thurifer & All,

I kinda thought that we have been suffering the spiritual chastisement for quite some time now, and that all that remains is for the punishment, that will (at last) bring the Pope to Consecrate Russia, albeit late, as Our Lady foretold. But then, I could be wrong. Bound to happen one day.

Bad priests are always a sign of God’s disfavour, so heavens knows what a pontiff like Francis represents – and priests like these, interviewed on the Irish Late Late Show, one week after ordination. (and don’t miss the linked video – which I’ve posted below just in case you do miss it!)

I think it’s safe to say that we are suffering the spiritual chastisement right now. I mean, we’re in the middle of a massive apostasy. How much worse can it get?

As I’ve said above, in case you miss the link to the YouTube video, I’ve posted in below – unbelievable stuff. Notice that they are interviewed before Pope Benedict’s resignation. Can you imagine what they will be like now? So, I don’t give a toss if these priests offer “valid” Masses. I wouldn’t attend any of their Masses even if the Pope commanded me to do so. Especially if the Pope commanded me to do so!

      • Editor,

That video is shocking. The three in question may be priests but they are so evidently absent of the spirit of Our Lord. That something we see in the countenance of a holy and faithful priest of God is missing in their case, as in the case of so many of today’s priests. There is such a thing as priests looking like priests, and I’m not just talking about attire. These three unfortunates don’t look like priests. They certainly don’t think and talk like priests, poor deluded souls. What a mess!

  8. I once read in Catholic Truth that the apparitions at Akita, Japan, in 1973 might be the missing part of the third Secret since the Third Secret had not been revealed in 1960 as Our Lady had wanted. When you read Akita, that looks very like the case. It is definitely following on from the Fatima message iMHO. I copied part of a very interesting website about Akita because it is clear that there is to be a chastisement for unrepented sins in our times.

“Beginning on September 20, 1973, the statue began to sweat from the face to the feet. Tears began to flow down the face. Also, a very pleasant odor was felt in the chapel. This happened many times in the presence of others, including the Bishop. In all, the statue wept a total of 101 times.

On October 13, 1973, Our Lady gave Sister Sasagawa this serious message: “As I said before if mankind does not repent, the Heavenly Father will inflict a very serious punishment on the whole world; a punishment the likes of which has never happened before. Many people will perish. Pray the Rosary often. Only I can prevent the disaster. Whoever entrusts themselves to me will be saved.” The statue continued to weep and other messages followed. Pilgrims came and many received answers to their prayers. Then, in 1981, Theresa Chon, who was suffering from terminal brain cancer, was miraculously healed through the intercession of Our Lady of Akita. This healing was well documented by Fr. Joseph Oh of Seoul, S. Korea.

In his pastoral letter, Bishop Ito said that it would have been difficult to believe in a message from Our Lady that is so terrible, unless there was overwhelming proof that it was indeed from Her. But he points out that the terrible chastisement of which Our Lady speaks is on the condition: “If men do not repent and do not better themselves . . .” The Bishop added it is a serious warning, while at the same time one perceives in it the maternal love of Our Lady. In Her message warning the world of the annihilation of a great part of humanity, She said: “The thought of the loss of numerous souls makes me sad.” http://olrl.org/prophecy/akita.shtml

  9. JP2 at Fulada, was asked about the 3rd secret and it is claimed he more or less confirmed what is in this latest article.

  10. I am beginning to wonder if Pope Francis is part of the chastisement. I don’t think anyone could ever have imagined having such a terrible pope.

I remember one of the speakers at the last Catholic Truth Conference said that Our Lady had said at either Quito or Akita (can’t remember which) that when the Sacrament of Marriage is under attack, almost completely submerged, then it is a sign that Our Lady will intervene and intervene dramatically. I think this Synod on the Family could be a turning point.

  11. What I mean is, the pope will publicly renounce the Faith. And as a result, millions will do the same, and then be killed in the physical chastisement. They would lose their souls.

    That would be apostasy.

    • Thurifer,

Our Lady said that the Consecration of Russia would take place, albeit late, and that fact, together with Our Lord’s promise to be with His Church until the end of time, makes it highly unlikely (to say the least) that there will be a public renunciation of the Faith by any pontiff.

Remember, the nature of the diabolical crisis we are witnessing right now, is that the Modernists, including Pope Francis, really do believe they are acting and speaking in the best interests of the Faith. Those scales need to fall from their eyes before the Faith can be restored, but that spiritual blindness is quite different from the kind of public renouncing of the Faith that you appear to envisage.

  12. You’re right. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t make such sweeping statements without knowing them for certain to be true. Especially if they lead to such a horrifying situation.

Lately, I’ve been reading Windswept House by Fr. Malachi Martin, and it got to me, if you know what I mean.

    • I do understand what you mean. Only too well. I began but didn’t finish Windswept House (due to its length and pressure of time) but I have always had some reservations about Malachi Martin. Can’t explain it.
